I love Stevie version of "Not Fade Away" from the small clip. I wasn't sure of this BH song choice for her at first, but it reminds me of her version of "It's Late" but sassy & punchier. And from what I can hear her vocal sounds fantastic. Who knew 2011 would be some of her best recorded vocals of the last 20 years!
I'm now very excited about this release. It's very different from Florence & the Machines version & much better IMO ![]() |

The Jeff Lynne cover reminded me of Lindsey.

Anybody know, who's the male voice(s) doing the background vocal on Stevie's cover?

I always loved this song and it's really cool that Stevie is doing it. I haven't usually liked her choice of cover songs, but this one is a keeper
I really like Jackson Browne and Natalie Merchant too. BTW, there is another Buddy Holly tribute CD with Nanci Griffith and Mary Chapin Carpenter that's really fun to listen to. Kevin |

When did Stevie record this? Late 2009? Early 2010?
I just like timelines with Stevie's music. |

This looks GREAT! Stevie sounds fantastic on it and Jackson Browne and Natalie Merchant are two of my favourite artists. Those 3 plus the complete hotness of Zooey Deschanel means I'm in!
Not sure about the version of Everday though...

Here's a longer EPK for the 'Listen To Me' album, with a little more of Stevie's version of "Not Fade Away."

So Waddy was a coproducer...
And did anyone else notice the case visible behind Chris Isaak.. it says "Mark Needham".... might this be Mark Needham the engineer, seen mixing the Say You Will album? |

Excerpt from Beck/Smith Hollywood
http://becksmithhollywood.com/?p=4327 Legendary record producer Peter Asher is the man behind “Listen To Me,” and he’ll be on hand to speak at the star unveiling as well as the concert. He tells us the first performer lined up for the album was Stevie Nicks. “We asked her very early on, so she got to choose which song she wanted to do. She grabbed ‘Not Fade Away’ and did a really great job with it. It’s a really great vocal.’” |

Her track is the first track on the album, so they must like it.
