Anyone know if Stevie has recorded songs on tribute albums before?

She did "Lay Down Your Arms" as a duet with Ringo Starr for For The Love Of Harry, the Harry Nilsson tribute album.

Chili, thanks for the response, I'll look for the song.

I have the cassette somewhere. A few years ago I tried to order the album on CD & was told it was unavailable.

Not sure if this is the same song that's being discussed (although I think it is), but Stevie and Tom already sang it in concert apparently;

The Florence + The Machine version is pretty cool too, though.

I hope that Stevie's version of the song shows up somewhere! I wonder if she was disappointed that her version was dropped from the roster. I liked seeing her name on the cover, mingled with other legendary artists. I'm a fan of Florence and the Machine, but I bet Stevie's rendition is pretty cool. I'm sad that she cut out of it!

It's on a different compilation than the Florence and the Machine version. See Nina's post below.

Yup, Florence + The Machine are on a different compilation than the one Peter Asher is releasing.

Default Buddy Holly Tribute Behind the Scenes

Peter Asher talks about working Stevie with plus 'Not Fade Away' plays at the beginning.

It'll be out on September 6.

Listen to Me: Buddy Holly will be available in stores on September 6th – the day before what would have been Holly's 75th birthday – and proceeds from the set will go to numerous music-related organizations, including The GRAMMY Foundation's "GRAMMY Camps" and Artists' House Music, that support the artistic growth and professional development of young musicians.
