Especially in combination with your perfected acoustic style you could make a folknoise-album that would shock and inspire the indie music world.

I still think it would be an interesting effort.... don't you?

This sounds like one they'd definitely choose. Michele

Did he leave the possibility, like he was in the midst of it and swtiched gears? And I don't really understand what is guitar-noiserock album? But I can't stand any of those groups (I mean Nirvana is OK, and Radiohead is respectable), so I'm glad Buck abandoned such a project.

ETA: And I'm not pooh-poohing the question, I'm just not familiar with that concept, though I think I "hear" it. Has Neil Young experimented in the form?

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

No, he did not start it. But he was very eager to collaborate with Jack White, BECAUSE of the match with his live-guitarstyle.
He answered my question about the suggestion to collaborate with White in that online hotelroom Q&A he did around 2007. And in 2008 I talked to him about it in real life during his eastcoast GOS-tour.
There are several noise-rock bands, especially Sonic Youth, but you can count Yo La Tengo too and yes, basicly everything Neil Young did with Crazy Horse. Even his new album, (called Le Noise) produced by Daniel Lanois is a perfect example.

I know you're not poo-poohing the question, apart from LB, your taste in music is 99 procent the opposite of mine. And to be honest, and not poo-poohing, of Lindsey's taste too, based on the bands he said he admired through the years.

I just love to see it happening: a full rockalbum with alot of grungy guitar, combined with "rains" of acoustic picking, screaming solos and screaming Lindsey's ( coming from everywhere, like in GOS and Great Day ). Say, songs like Johnny Stew, Come, ISA, Not That Funny, That's Enough For Me, This is the Time, Mary Lee Jones, GOS, Loving Cup, Play In The Rain and Great Day, but (ofcourse new songs/compositions!) now in a new, 2012 Hardedged Folkrock Noise style. It's not a concept that truly exists, but -like you said- you can "hear" it. And when I met him, he at least acted as if he could "hear" it too.

Maybe because most of us can't come up with a question that is either "sharp" or "funny"!!!

Yeah, I'm having trouble thinking of one that's not just really technical... I could talk to the man for hours (though I'd have to trap him first ) about all the technical studio wizard stuff but I can't translate any of that into a question they would be likely to ask.

Well, just try some out over here, even if it's about the wizardry. I still want to submit one about his use of real drums vs. digital percussion. What the heck Peestie, this is a chance to try some questions out. Let THEM be the judge about which questions will reach him, not ourselves, it's missing chances to communicate with him!!!!! Are we men or mice?

I'd think they'd welcome a few technical questions. They would fall into the "sharpest" category.

I couldn't possibly - I would squirm with !

I think most diehard LB fans on here know by now that my mind's in the gutter when it comes to Lindsey. I doubt that I'm the only one who'd like to ask him some suggestive questions!!!

Just ask them. You know how the man himself is when it comes to sexual suggestive lyrics, I bet he could have a giggle with some of that type of questions.
