Hey, not sure if this has been discussed, but what are the screamy noises at the end of GDW? They give me goosebumps...

I think it's Stevie shrieking & howling in her gutteral way, possibly through an amplified flanger or phaser. The engineers used a flanger or a phaser on the clavinet on that track, so maybe they ran Stevie's shrieks through it.

Which review was it (Esquire? Creem? Hit Parader?) that referred to the "Welsh witch howls that end the record"?

i've never heard the shattering glass. can anyone give me an exact time on when it happens? or is it only on a certain version?

I don't know what that is-yes, it is chilling. I once or twice made the mistake of doing GDW at kareoke. The words on the soundstage mp3 are just ridiculous....it's like "ummmm, death" . These words that I never heard on the album and never heard Stevie sing these words live. I was embarrassed!! It looked so evil!!

Speaking of crappy lyric translation, have any of u seen the ones on the mirage dvd? Rhiannon is "We aaaaaaadled" and several more travesties i cant remember... if u have it check out the subtitles for a good laugh!

I don't know if my version of GDW has the breaking glass sound. It's the 2 disc remaster from a few years ago and I don't think I've ever heard it. Unless I'm just missing it because I don't see the logic in taking it out.
