Help...Eyes of the World

I need someone's help. There is a very famous classical music piece that the beginning of EOTW (the buh buh buh part)is based on....i thought it was Vivaldi's Four Seasons but it's not.

Where did you read that? I haven't read that about EOTW, neither in Mick's book, nor Bob's, or any magazine I have read. Interesting.

I wouldn't be surprised. For example, "Could it be magic" (sang by Barry Manilow and Donna Summer) was based in a Choping melody. Well, there are lot of examples.

But I've never heard the buh buh buh part in a classical piece.

I noticed that the bass line progressed the same way as Canon in D, but did the treble come from somewhere? The first thing I thought when I heard EOTW for the first time was "haven't I heard this before?" but I have no earthly idea where.
