For the finished production, I hope he takes out the string sound and gives it more of a "wall of sound" keyboard/guitar treatment a la Coldplay. It would be new and fresh sounding for Stevie.

So between the four Dave Stewart songs and the New Orleans song, we have half of an album already written. If she throws in a half dozen or so old demos into the mix, she's got an instant solo album- just add water!
Very true! But, despite the fact most albums only have 10-12 songs, I am really hoping Stevie pulls one off with 18 like SYW. 10-12 songs just seems sooooo few. But I know 18 is a longshot.

It just occurred to me that if this turns into a full-blown duets album, they will have to tour together, which means Stevie will probably have to cover some Eurythmics songs. I think she could kill "Sweet Dreams," especially the vamping at the end where Annie manages to sound oddly similar to Stevie. And "Missionary Man" is totally in a key that Stevie could sing.

A duets album is not entirely implausible- look what it did for the careers of Robert Plant and Alison Kraus!

From Twitter:
@DaveStewart Demo is amazing! Is this for a new Stevie Solo project? We miss her!
@adambradnick yeah we are making "album" in a very new way

Sounds like a new Stevie SOLO album to me with him producing and possibly singing and playing.

That would be incredible.

Despite my "naysaying" I really am thrilled about the idea of an album. I just want it to be the sort of album that makes me sit up and listen. I have this fear that Stevie's going to end up as the poor man's Christine McVie in an attempt to get airplay instead of sticking to her roots and remembering that she was about the only woman in the world who could make songs like "Rhiannon" and "Sara" hits. She doesn't have Christine's easy pop sensibility, but what she has is intrigue and individuality. I want to hear her work that again and give us something that only Stevie Nicks could do.

Holy BATMAN!!! I'm so thrilled I can't stand it.... I was hoping & praying she would do a solo record @! I mean Lindsey spit 2 out in 2 years....
With todays technology, She doesn't have to take as long as TISL. And Dave is the master of new toy's with old fashioned sensibilities.

Heres to a very possible new CD and Spring/Summer concert....

This is great! Their voices sound great together.
It has a very Eurythmics-vibe, I'm thinking of "Miracle of Love" mostly.
Anyway, this all sounds VERY interesting.
And I wonder what Stevie thinks of Dave sharing this?

I really don't like it. It's mediocre at best, and I think lots of people are just saying it sounds good because it's Stevie. From an objective point of view - Stevie's straining her voice and it's bland, middle of the road music which fits right into that adult contemporary niche that non-fans expect her music to be. The lyrics are shocking, also.

Stevie could do so much better. She's resting on her laurels with this song.

I'm very pleased. Her vocals have improved since TISL.
