Aww, sad. But, haven't you ever seen an old gypsy?

She did a very sexy, extended sway/dance during How Still My Love, and I thought Edge of Seventeen last night was even better than the night before. She's got her howl back in full swing, for that and GDW, which delighted the audience.

Gold Dust Woman and Dreams switched places in the setlist. I think it worked well. Dreams is the Mac's biggest hit and, while GDW is also famous, it takes it a bit longer to pick up speed. Having Dreams second after Stand Back keeps the energy up for longer.
Of course she changed them. I knew she couldn't do too many shows without Dreams being the second song.

I keed, I keed! Glad you guys are having a good time. Did you go to the breakfast buffet at Paris again? *swoon*

"Oh no, you cannot tell a gypsy...that her skirt is stuck in her nylons....."

Were you able to see the stiletto in her garter?

So I think she is worried about lowering keys, probably wanting to preserve the music the way it was and should be.

Changing keys isn't as easy as it sounds (no pun intended). Changing keys to odd intervals can make the song sound completely different, even if it's just a half step.
Thanks for the answers, everyone. I have only the SLIGHTEST bit of basic "textbook" musical knowledge. I could never tell you what key a song is in, or in what range someone sings. Much to my chagrin.

I guess the changes I hear are, like Little Nicki said, in the lowering of the melody as opposed to the key.

I can understand wanting her to sing different songs even if she has to rework them... it would be fun to hear some of the songs in different arrangements... but the "even if she butchers them" line of thought surprises me.
I mean, is it really better to hear something you've never heard live before, even if it sounds God awful? I just can't imagine that being satisfying in any way.

"Woo-hoo!!! She sang 'Julia'!!! It sounded like Roseanne Barr taking a hard ****, but at least she sang it!!! I'm gonna buy a ticket to tomorrow night's show, too!"

I would only say replaced if Brett were never going to play for Stevie again. Is that the case?
