I don't hear it. Unless you could call Rumours country-ish now.

Modern country which is barely country at all. You May Be The One and Wide Sargasso Sea would even have a chance. Wide Sargasso Sea is very Fancy by Reba Mcentire and country played Picture by Kid Rock. They are playing Bon Jovi too.

Yeah- he did a popular commercial for I believe Gallo wine where he quoted that. It was in the late 70s.

So who is it in your avatar then?

The violins are stellar with Stevie's voice - nice touch on this album!

1. Annabel Lee, sing-a-long, toe-tapper
2. Italian Summer, takes me away - like Calgon
3. Moonlight
4. For What It's Worth
5. You May Be the One - big fan of her jazzy voice
6. Ghosts are Gone
7. Secret Love
8. In Your Dreams
9. Cheaper Than Free - Dave's voice is kinda cool with hers, in a fresh, new way
10. Everybody Loves You
11. Wide Sargasso Sea
12. New Orleans
13. Soldier's Angel

I do hear some country in the song IYD.
And I definitely think "Second Hand News" and "I Don't Want to Know" are as country-ish as a lot of today's country songs.

Her and Dave managed to make really good songs in each genre. I'm really digging this album. It's just a good job across all genres.
That is how I feel. I am not dissapointed by any of the songs on this album. I freakin love this cd and I dont skip anything. I just got the chance to listen to IYD on a long road trip we had it cranked up and it was awesome. Im really getting into Moonlight, IYD, Annabel Lee,You may be the one, New Orleans, Everybody Loves You, and Italian Summer but like I said I adore everything.

I've wanted to do this everyday since the thread started, but I just can't seem to prioritize the songs!
I THINK Italian Summer is my favorite
but I really, really love (in the Album order...I guess with a gun to my head, I'd have to say they'd be at number two...and I'd probably get shot) For What It's Worth, In Your Dreams, New Orleans, Moonlight, Everybody loves You & You May Be The One

Cheaper Than Free would be next followed by Annabel Lee
Ghost Are Gone
and coming up in the rear are Wide Sargasso Sea and Soldier's Angel

As plenty have said, it's quite hard to rank these songs, probably still too early. Songs from 04-11 are interchangeable for me at this point.

01. Annabel Lee
02. New Orleans
03. Moonlight
04. For What It's Worth
05. Wide Sargasso Sea
06. Italian Summer
07. In Your Dreams
08. Secret Love
09. Soldier's Angel
10. You May Be The One
11. Cheaper Than Free
12. Everybody Loves You
13. Ghosts Are Gone

I can't include My Heart yet because I'm waiting June 27th for the UK edition

For me:
1. Moonlight (A Vampire's Dream)
2. For What It's Worth
3. Wide Sargasso Sea
4. Everybody Loves You
5. Anabel Lee
6. New Orleans
7. Italian Summer
8. In Your Dreams
9. Cheaper Than Free
10. You May Be The One
11. Soldier's Angel
12. Ghosts Are Gone
13. Secret Love

Yes, Secret Love is my least favorite, but it's still awesome! Oh and I haven't heard My Heart yet

Keith, I totally get where someone would think Stevie was gay upon listening to "Annabel Lee", ignorant of the fact that a man actually wrote it. I'm not sure where you're getting the feeling that FWIW has lesbian tendencies.

As far as the pictures go, Stevie's always held her women friends closely. I'm sure she's very comfortable with her sexuality and doesn't care what people think. Pictures on TISl and WH could also suggest that she may be gay. Her performances of "Nightbird" with Lori on Solid Gold and SNL, with them singing so closely, might make some think this as well. At least one person I know has said this to me. I just love that Stevie is so comfortable with herself and I doubt that it's even crossed her mind. After all there are many kinds of love, they don't all have to be sexual in nature.

Default In Your Dreams

I eagerly purchased the CD at WalMart after I left work on Tuesday evening and it has been my entertaining and constant audio companion in my hour long driving commutes the rest of the week. I do tend to skip through SL because I have listened to it so much while waiting for the CD release. I find it difficult to rank these songs in any order of appreciation because each is well done and trigger different emotional responses in me each time I hear any of them. By Friday night I can rank the most repeated song I 've played is IYD – my take on this song is that it's about us, her fans and her interaction with us though I know some here link it to more personal relationships of Stevie's, which it could be of course. I can rank my happiest surprise song is Annabel Lee – I have the old demo in my collection – thanks to The Ledge's Lovelies – and the demo is not a favorite of mine – I agree with many here that often Stevie's demos are better than the released production, and I was concerned about AL – however, I gotta say, I like it! I just think Stevie is sharing the stories and connections that are meaningful to her and it's all good, and I'm genuinely equally pleased with all the songs. xoxoxo

1. For What It's Worth
2. New Orleans
3. You May Be The One
4. Soldier's Angel
5. Annabel Lee
6. Moonlight
7. Secret Love
8. In Your Dreams (catchy and great lyrics but I find it generic musically, like a Mary Chapin Carpenter or Lucinda Williams cast-off)
9. Cheaper Than Free (the opposite situation - really like the music but the lyrics make me snicker)
10. Wide Sargasso Sea (just because of the impassioned vocal - otherwise uninteresting)

Then I basically don't like:
11. Italian Summer (ooey gooey)
12. Everybody Loves You (icky sticky)
13. Ghosts Are Gone (This to me is a cheesy 80s hair metal song. Yuck.)

Moonlight - Love it!

Everybody Loves You - Amazing. This should be a single.

Secret Love - I think people hate on this song just because it's the first single...

My Heart - Better than the TISL version, sorry!

Annabel Lee - Can't believe how much I like this! I aniticipated eye rolls but was pleasantly surprised!

In Your Dreams - The "Blue Denim" of this album.

For What It’s Worth - Grown on me a lot in the past week.

Cheaper Than Free - Silly and simple, but still really pretty.

You May Be the One - Reminds me of "Somebody Stand By Me".

Wide Sargasso Sea - Great music and production, but some of the lyrics are just... meh.

Italian Summer - See above.

New Orleans - See above again.

Ghosts Are Gone - A missed opportunity. This is the "Love Is Like A River" of this album; rockin' song that should have been great, but...

Soldier’s Angel - Love the sentiment. But that's about it.
