The thing that bugs me about the lyrics is that, even if they wanted to keep them simple and concise and you know, in the vain that they are now... some of them still could very easily have been improved upon.

For instance:

"What's faster than a fast car?"

If changed to 'What's faster than a speeding car?' it sounds much less elementary school and just .. less cringeworthy. Still doesn't make it a lyrical masterpiece but it's not so redundant, etc.

I randomly thought of that change in 2.5 seconds when I was humming it in the shower (the tune IS pretty catchy), so I just feel like if they sat down and worked on the lyrics a little more it would have helped so much. It's not that they have to be MYSTICAL - that's not the problem... they just aren't good.

Just my .02 cents.

"What's faster than a speeding car" is actually a much worse line. It's mundane. It's trite. Whereas "what's faster than a fast car" is referring to a car that's fast all the time, basically its known to be fast, like say a Z29. Even a parked Z29 will get a comment like "oh there's a fast car".

I can't get over this video!! So cute, and Stevie is sooo happy in it. The lyrics... eh... they aren't horrible, but over all I am sooo pleased

I know...I can't stop watching it! The lyrics are so simple (and slightly corny loving the new lyrics people are making up...)...but the simplicity is one of the reasons it's so beautiful. Their voices sound amazing together. Really hoping they do this live together at The Webster.

Does anyone else think of "the Highwayman" when they hear the opening music?

The only lyrics in it that really make me cringe are :

"more important than freedom, being needed"

and this one is pretty cringe-worthy too:

"more exciting than high fashion, high passion.."

BUT I DO love this line:

"What's deeper than a deep well? The love into which I fell."

I did not think I'd like it from all the commentary - but I love this song. So simple. It is when her voice is the best. Love it.
