FM77, IS the Cheaper then Free on Stevie's album much different then the bit of Dave's we've heard? That seems easy enough to remember I'd imagine.

I think Mike Campbell is the worst thing to ever happen to Stevie Nicks. I was seriously hoping she would drop him like a used tampon for this new album, but apparently he just clings on to Mama like a barnacle. I blame Tom Petty. He should have been putting those Heartbreakers on tour non-stop so that Mike Campbell would not have enough time to f*** up Stevie's new album.

Apparently they wrote it together. But according to Dave, he wrote Everybody Loves You and then sent his demo to Stevie and she put her vocal ontop of his, which can explain why ELY sounds kinda off in the snippet we have. But I hope she put her own words on parts of ELY.

Imperial Hotel- Let's face it- this is a mediocre tune saved by the tremendous, wailing, shredding vocal. This would have been unlistenable if anyone else had sung it. The Dance- Is there a barf icon I can use? Freedom- Perhaps my least favorite BTM song. It's down there with "Stand on the Rock" for me. The Mixdown- This definitely should remain in the scrap heap. Fire Burning- One of the lowest points on an album that is a lowpoint itself. Desert Angel- Some call this a masterpiece. I call it a hot mess. I wish I could "call it missing." You Like Me- Never heard this. Blue Denim- Okay, ONE Mike Campbell song I somewhat like. But that's not an impressive batting average. My Heart- This song goes nowhere musically. The chorus is utter garbage. Whole Lotta Trouble- The other lowpoint of TOSOTM. "Fire Burning" and "WLT" exemplify everything I find offensive about the Klono-Stevie era. Ghosts- Okay, TWO MC songs I like. And this one I do really like. |

Well then , tell us how u really feel.![]() However I do love "Blue Denim", "Greta", "Ghosts", "Kick It "in that order. And agree on "Imperial Hotel" that Stevie's vocal is kick ass & phenom. OMG I was just thinking is it a coincidence that Stevie & Mike Campbell had 3 collaborations each on what are generally regarded as Stevie weakest efforts: SA & OSOTM. ![]() This is not sitting well with me...suddenly realizing he most likely co-wrote 2 IYD tracks. Eh! I probably shouldn't worry, because right now whats really got me worried - back on topic - Am I the only one questioning Dave & Stevie co-writing chemistry based on Cheaper Than Free? This new extended clip with the lyrics "More exciting than high fashion......High passion!" left me in shock. If this is any indication of the lyrical content to come, Stevie may not be getting many critical accolades for IYD at all. This is as cheesy as Stevie Baby's lyrics, but not in a cute way. The video that I saw for the song was shot in her house (not the condo) and it is very cool---I saw it several times and it made me like the song more every time I heard/saw it. It was shot as a performance and as a behind-the-scenes-making-of-the record. Stevie looks fabulous and is having so much fun that you get sucked into it. There is a snippet in the video of her doing a little dance with a little black hat on---it was my favorite part. Last edited by FM77; 02-03-2011 at 07:49 AM.. |

A friend sent me this link earlier today. At the end of the interview, they play Dave's studio version "The Nashville Version" of "Cheaper Than Free" Check it out. It's very nice, especially on a decent system. |
