Dave mentions Stevie's "forthcoming album" in new Billboard article

RockALittle250 · #1 07-06-2010, 11:11 PM

He is most definitely referring to the recording sessions. Take a look at this! And as I suspected, she IS also working with Glen Ballard!!

"In LA working with Dave Stewert, Glenn Ballard, Mick Fleetwood & Waddy Wachtel on Stevie Nicks new CD. KILLIN!ore comments and pix to come"

"Back home and the recordings with Stevie went well! Always great to see and hear her. Stevies new CD will be killin'!

Hey, thanks for digging those up! Very cool.

Dave and Glen are co owners of the studio, so that's not surprising he's involved too.

For those interested, here's an update on the details so far:

So, we have these players:
Dave Stewart - guitar
Mike Campbell - guitar
Steve Ferrone - drums
Mike Rowe - keyboard
Mike Bradford - bass
Waddy Wachtel - guitar
Mick Fleetwood - drums
Rickey Peterson - keyboard

Also: Ann Marie Calhoun - violin

These songs/titles:
Everybody Loves You
Italian Summer
New Orleans song / Vampire song (alleged but based on David Wild's visit to the studio)
Annabel Lee (alleged)

Producers: Dave Stewart, Glen Ballard

Yes but is there any official comment/tweet from anyone involved regarding "Annabel Lee"? I'm not sure this information is at all based on fact, but rather wishful thinking.

Honestly, I hope this isn't true. Don't like it at all.

Gotta love Dave & others, but esp. Dave for keeping us in the loop with his tweets & pix in real time, This is a 1st for a Stevie Nicks project! Who needs official press statements when we are getting taunted & teased with tweets from those on the inside. So this got me to wondering, Thus far the sessions on Stevie's new material have been described as:

"sounding EPIC" D.S.
"sounding AMAZING" D.S.
" you won't be disappointed

" D.S
"there are lots of ghosts, vampires on Stevie Nicks' upcoming album, but mostly stunning songs." D.W.
"powerful & deeply personal. There's blood on these tracks." D.W
"rocks, on a number of levels." D.W.
"WOW. And a good wow too." D.W.
"KILLIN!" R.P
"Grooving and it sounds really good! " R.P

So can this project possibly stand up to this hype? Are we going to have such high expectations that we are sure to be disappointed?? Don't get me wrong I think Stevie has it in her & has yet to make her all time great solo recording. And I am sure I will love what is released no matter what. But it does raise the bar a bit to read these soundbites out of any real context other than exciting adjectives that reverberate in our deaf ears.

Also in 2007 she said she wanted to do Lady From The Mountain, so add that to alleged!

According to Dave's Twitter, he's just arrived in Nashville.

So I guess he's taking a break from her Stevie-ness.

Here's an oddity -- in the article I found (in the Chit Chat forum) about Ringo Starr's 70th birthday bash, it says Dave was one of the attendees. But that was Wednesday, and on Wednesday nite he twittered:

hmmm just felt an earthquake

....which would lead me to believe he was actually in LA at the time. Man, this guy's everywhere!
