Well, no, not necessarily--once isn't enough. Heroin a narcotic. Repeated usage will lead to tolerance and addiction. It can be snorted, smoked or injected. Given Stevie's preferred usage of cocaine, it's possible it was cut into the coke and was snorted. I guess we'll need more info from "Ask Stevie" as to which agent was slipped to her. I guess LSD can be inhaled as well as taken orally or injected--but Stevie would certainly be aware if someone stuck her! I suppose we'll have to chalk up the article as an "unclear antecedent" in terms of which drug was slipped to her. You think it's the former, while I took it to mean the latter, merely because it came last.

I was once slipped heroin and new immediately something was not right. I though it was coke but it didn't taste like it. I was so pissed at the guy but he had already immediately passed out so I hightailed it outta there. I really thought about going back to his place and beating the living **** out of him but figured it was not worth the trouble or aggravation of being brought up on assault charges. I did try it two or three times afterwards and never got hooked as I had heard the horror stories. I like Stevie also had a very addictive personality through much of the 1980's and 90's but wanted no part of heroin.

Since the lyrics of ‘Rooms on Fire’ were supposedly inspired by Rupert Hine, I think Stevie was attracted to him and vice versa, and they had a brief fling during the making of the record. ‘It had nothing to do with love’ could mean that it was a purely physical relationship. Maybe after the album was done, Roop dumped her, hence Stevie’s bitter feelings.

Oh, here’s a rare pic of Stevie and Roop in their ‘happier’ days together attached below). Sorry for the lousy quality. It’s a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy. If anyone has a clear copy of this - please post.

The caption says the two were attending the premier of the U2 movie ‘Rattle and Hum’ together.

I've seen other interviews where Stevie indicated that Rupert Hine was it for her; that he was "THE one." Granted she's said that about others - especially Joe Walsh and Lindsey - - - But this somehow seemed "different." To me at least.
And I remember in the past people have commented in here that it seemed that way to them.

I remember her writting in that Timespace tourbook that he was older than her. I wonder if that had something to do with all of that. Ya know, just about every guy Stevie has been involved with has been younger than her. She has admitted that around the Dance period in '97 she was involved with a guy in his 20's. That just makes me want to say, "Stevie, get down with your bad cougar self !!!!"

That was November 3, 1988.
Here's a pic from July 15 1989, 8 months later and still happy together:
