I was actually very surprised by the comment just because, where I come from at least, when you say something like it it suggests that you might be sort of waiting in the wings for something to happen...like once his kids are grown and out of the house and his responsibility their direct care ends, there will be an opportunity for their relationship to change. My question is, how exactly does she expect the relationship to change? |

I thought that was a very telling comment from her. It would not surprise me if she believes that once the children are older, she and he will live out their lives together as they were 'meant to do' but couldn't manage in the usual way. Equally, who's to say they won't????/ Also, I think the doc was a great prmotion for the band. I'vehad several people talk to me about it who hadn't followed the band since Tango in the night. So, good or lightweight, it did the group a lot of good to be remembered for an audience that doesn't follow fan forums but likes them. |

Thats exactly what I thought the second she said it. I don't know exactly what she meant by it though...but it is obvious that she's got something particular in mind.
I do have a question though. The narration says that Christine was the "female songwriter reluctant to front the band." Are there any quotes from her or anyone else in FM that support this? I would be interested to know if that were true and, if so, why she was reluctant to be the face of FM as it were at that time? Last edited by GypsyBlueEyes; 11-06-2009 at 10:32 AM.. |

I guess I always just took that to mean that she wouldn't have wanted to front Fleetwood Mac as it became after Stevie and Lindsey joined and they all became super famous. In my mind, when imagining what it must have been like before Stevie & Lindsey, I always thought a bluesy FM fronted by Christine...maybe not literally out front as Stevie and Lindsey did...but just there to the side with her keyboard would have made a pretty great show. It would have been a perfect setup for smaller venues with smaller stages. I definitely would have paid to see it!

She seems to prefer being part of a group with multiple leads.

I think I see what Dani is saying. Stevie's affection for his kids could help her keep her emotional distance from him. I think its a really good interpretation of the situation that I hadn't given much thought to in terms of the comment she made...makes a lot of sense.
And as far as The Dance goes...I think there was a lot more than loose strings going on ![]() |

So, when the kids are grown, Stevie might step in and kick Kristen to the curb. She'll be 73 by then and he'll be 72. I hope she still has it and that Lindsey still remembers what to do with it.

So, let's think about her statement. When Will was born she knew "it" was over... not when Lindsey was dating Kristen, or became serious with her (remember the backstage comment she made to a fan how Lindsey was practically married), not the day she found out Kristen was pregnant or even the other nine months of said pregnancy...but the day Will was born. My, my, my... Oh, and Joe Walsh is the love of her life. ![]() Quote:

However, I think that Lindsey, like the rest of us, thinks Stevie doth protest too much.
