Oh, absolutely. Completely agree.

I'm glad you like it. I'm serious- I really do. There's just too many cringe-worthy tracks on it- whether it be because of the lyrical content, the music, the production, Lindsey vocal performance, or all four. "This Is The Time" pulls off this rare superfecta feat.

Which makes absolutely no sense, given the considerable marketing dollars, promotional appearances/radio station tours, and extensive concert touring (he opened for Tina Turner, for christsake).

I ask this with all sincerity and wild-eyed curiosity- what should Lindsey/WBR have done to get the public's attention that would have changed the fortunes of this project? Is it not possible that his target audience at the time just saw it as what it was- an already-dated, wholly self-derivative solo album from an ex-member of a (basically) dead & irrelevant band. High profile promotional appearances like the Leno/"Don't Look Down" trainwreck did more to confound than intrigue.

I think he's still smarting from the massive failure that it was. He put in a lot of man-hours and went to extraordinary lengths to promote the thing- not to mention the 5+ years in recording it. I also think he looks back on it the same way he does L&O and GI- its in the past, he was a different person then, not really ashamed of his efforts but not willing to put it out in the forefront, either.
