I don't recall there being a jam that year. Did I miss something??? I thought the lawyers couldn't get it to work for some reason or other. Or, maybe because it was because Stevie would've been up there with 4 of her exes!

I think there was some bitterness within the Eagles and that is why
there was no jam.....

Hey, Henley's name should have been listed in the Choose a Drummer thread from the LB forum!

Gotta say that Don and Lindsey sound pretty nice together on You Can't Make Love. I'm way into it. Yowza!

Why the Hell were two of the three songs they chose to perfrom just Stevie and Lindsey. BuckinghamNicks was not inducted into the Hall of Fame. It's bad enough only the Rumours line up performed but they excluded Mick and John from over half of the performances. Thats just insane.

That was all that was televised. I think they did another Christine song that wasn't televised. But, that moment where the band and Peter walked on stage was just gooseflesh. I wish they would have done "Oh Well," but Peter didn't actually know what was going on or where they were going until they were there. His manager wanted to surprise him. (Note: I got the story from Peter, Nigel, and Mich at a Splinter Group show.)

That explains why he was dressed up, yet still had two inch long fingernails.

Yeah, because if he knew ahead of time, he would've tried to find a way to NOT go.

At least SYLM with all of them rocked. For them to sing so beautifully 23 years in was, um . . . showed me how phrases like "took my breath away" first came into being.

As I recall Stevie was sick that night, a stomach virus if I remember correctly. I think she retired to her hotel room after FM was inducted. I'm sure she would have liked to party all night long if she was feeling up to it. Kind of takes the icing off the cake for her. But all in all, it was a night to cherish for FM.

Look at the bands who were inducted...other than Santana, none of the other bands COULD jam their way out of a paper bag. Even Peter Green's "jamming" days were long out of sight in the rear-view mirror by then.

It would have been so cool for the band to break out with Oh Well in honor of Peter on that night. Another missed opportunity though... what a shame.

Their lack of originality baffles me. I mean, they have a plethora of things to choose from, yet they always resort to the same tired stuff...and this is me complaining about them from 1998! They better liven it up with their setlist a little. And frankly I agree with the ones who don't really care for the Buckingham-Nicks show, but if the other men weren't aware or even prepared, they probably had to rely on that pull...but still...the same songs???!!!?? I guess I should be glad they went at all.

Remember when they both appeared on Mark & Brian on KLOS in 1998? The DJs were urging them to play something -- anything -- & all they could do -- these two who had been singing & playing together since 1970 -- was sit there & be dumbfounded at the request to perform.

What did they do? "Never Going Back Again." Gee, perfect for Stevie. (She ultimately sat it out.)

If you're glad, you're glad. If you're not glad, you're not glad. How can you force yourself to be glad?
