Wow... how sad. They induct Peter, Danny and Jeremy yet they are completely ignored more or less and the focus is (of course) on Rumours and that lineup. How sad.

Sheryl Crow always comes off as incredibly pompous to me. She does alot of charity and political things which I comend her for but her attitude and her presentation skills have always rubbed me the wrong way.

I'll never get over Bob Welch and Kirwan missing in that presentation...

I realize it's only rock & roll, but Crow's induction speech was inane & trite. Couldn't she think of anything to commend the band for besides shag haircuts? And who cares, at such a moment, what Sheryl herself was doing in 1977?

Bob couldn't be there because he wasn't inducted (a complete sham.) I have to agree with what others have said about Cow-er Crow's introduction speech. It seemed to be more of an omage to Stevie than Fleetwood Mac. Even worse is that Peter, Jeremy and Danny get next to no recognition. They're represented as the guitarists who went crazy, not as hall of fame musicians and artists.

Only Sheryl. :-)

Let's keep in mind that Danny was too sick to make it to the ceremony, and would not have been comfortable there. And, yes, I was pissed that Bob and Billy weren't included. But, that was ten years ago. I've moved on. Now that Madonna has been inducted before much more deserving artists, like Rush, Yes, Genesis, Kiss, or Randy Bachman, the whole thing seems like a sham.

Also I find it interesting that the band didn't even know who was going to talk after Mick. John sure didn't want to!!

Thanks for sharing, I had never seen the speech.

Oh, no! Not Nicks harmonies!

It that his usual Chet Akins that he's playing there, or what is it?

I'm still peeved Chicago isn't in there (some would beg to disagree, I'm sure). But come on, they still tour with four of their original members and even put out an album of NEW material a few years ago (rare for them at this point). They are now 16 years into their eligibility! Rant over!

I remember loving that Stevie was on stage with four of her exes during the jam at this induction. Good times!

I don't recall there being a jam that year. Did I miss something??? I thought the lawyers couldn't get it to work for some reason or other. Or, maybe because it was because Stevie would've been up there with 4 of her exes!

darla 11-25-2008 11:27 AM

I think there was some bitterness within the Eagles and that is why
there was no jam.....
