Well, my view has nothing to do with Lindsey's age or aging. I think he was gorgeous and is gorgeous. I also think he chose a certain "look" for the photo we saw today and for the album cover. It's not just the way he is. He chose a certain look for Go Insane. He wanted to look wacko.

This time around, for whatever reason, he wanted to look woebegone. He doesn't look like that every day. He didn't look like that on the webcam shots Betsy gave us. That photo is an affected look. It's an image. I think it's fine for him to do that, because he's quirky and he always does things that make little sense to his bandmates or to the average Joe. So, I think it's in keeping with his personality to do something strange like that. I also think it's ripe for mocking.

It reminds me of something. When people take "before" and "after" photos, one of the tricks they use is to do many things to make them look awful "before" so that everyone will be amazed by the "after" image. So, if it's a weight product, they don't just show a person who is overweight, they show the "before" person in ugly clothes, a limp hair style, with a dour facial expression and poor posture. They really make them look bad for the "before" posed, so that the product will seem to have worked miracles when "after" is revealed. The person looks great in the "after" photo for reasons that actually have nothing to do with the weight they lost.

Well, those 2 particular photos of Lindsey look like his "before" poses. I just don't know what he's advertising.

The camera isn't even looking at him head on. He's shot from an angle that makes his forehead and eyes look quite different than they normally do.

I really like this picture. I haven't liked all his pictures, and I've also loved many, but this one is pretty cool. I think this shade of blue is a very attractive color for him. I say this as I spot some new candid shots of Bruce Springsteen, who is just 10 days older than LB. They both look incredible for their age, droopy eyes aside. They both could be my father and I say this without shame.

BUT, it looks to me like Linds is messin' about with the hair dye.Very cute. It looks good with the tips, but forgoodnesssakes he better not pull a Macca in the future. I might be horrified...

Thumbs up Looks Bad, But Appropriate

It's been a while since I wrote here, but I had to get in on this.

The Emily Dickinson poem from which the phrase "gift of screws" comes suggests the product of art is the result of hard work. If an artist were hard at work, would he or she not be exhausted and look pretty frazzled? The photos for this album support this--he looks like he's been hard at work!

Exactly! I love the picture. LOVE his new shorter, lighter do! I think Lindsey is trying to portray that he's older, wiser, tireder (is that a word ). Sort of a mad genius. Maybe alittle "screwy", hence the title. As far as doing the nice pose, leather jacket, holding guitar, looking all perfect and all, he's been there, done that. He's just trying to do something different

Eh. Lindsey does what he does.

If he wants to sell something that screams "depressing songs! Within!" that's good. If he wants the average person to make the connection between his work of art, and some long-dead poet's subtext, that's cool.

I still don't like the picture, though;-)
