Excuse me. From where I sit, he looked like he had a great life, and he always seemed to be in good spirits. He would have been the last person I would have suspected of being depressed.

i feel bad for him, they were saying last night, that he had a coke/heroin problem & woody harrelson had had an intervention at some point & that earlier sunday owen had a horrible fall-out w/ a very close friend~ i wish him all the best~ & for the record, his nose ain't that bad, i've seen worse & besides i have always thought he was cute~

leading a double life because of drugs is truley horrible. He was I guess a "functional" drug addict. That is very hard to do. You gotta go to work and you gotta do your drugs. Its very hard not to mix the two.

I don't think you can base someone's mental wellbeing on film publicity and the occasional paparazzi photo.
Owen is well known around Hollywood for having more than his fair share of problems, including drugs. I had heard heroin in the past, but that may have been a rumour. Sheryl Crow split up with him because of his problems. I believe the song Safe And Sound is about him.

Poor Owen. He's one of the few Hollywood people I genuinely like.

ok, I wasnt aware of his past drug use, and from all I'd heard, depression usually has a trigger, something you're depressed about. I just wasnt aware that he had anything to be depressed over. If it had to do with a relationship (friend or otherwise) ending, then yeah, I can see him being depressed over it.

Im really sorry for him, I hope he gets the help he needs.

no its not personal, are you paranoid? I only quoted you because you were the most recent person to disagree (but I would have thot you'd be the first!) anyway, take a chill pill.

and about that movie he was supposed to be a part of.....he's since been released from that project from what I read. (on a gossip site no less...)

LOS ANGELES - Owen Wilson, hospitalized after an apparent suicide attempt, has dropped out of the upcoming ensemble comedy "Tropic Thunder."

The 38-year-old actor will not appear in the DreamWorks movie, already six weeks into production in Hawaii. Sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to comment, told The Associated Press that Wilson was to have a cameo role in the film. "Tropic Thunder" stars Jack Black, Robert Downey, Jr., and Ben Stiller, who is also directing.

also, Jannie, has it been determined that Owen is "clinically depressed?" if not, then I would assume Owen's depression would need some sort of trigger
