The official 'word' right now is that he was simply dehydrated.

Because lacerated wrists are a side effect of dehydration. Right.

as a side note, i can't stand looking at his nose. it creeps me out. imagine what it's going to look like when he's old. yuck!

His nose freaks me out too, but I still love him (and his bro), and wish him the best.

Poor Owen, I hope he's okay. I'm a big fan, mainly of his work with Wes Anderson though.
Owen needs to get away from Hollywood and start writing with Wes again.
And I like his nose: it gives him character.
