Where? She made Petty and The Heartbreakers lower it from the original key.

Just a few added comments from last night. I agree with Nancy and Kelly - her vocals were brilliant and noticeably so. After all these years I finally got to experience the edge walk. She grabbed both of my hands and looked me in the eyes and said thank you. To me? Now that I've experienced it I no longer have the need to sit in the front row. It's too close and sitting amongst the casino freebie crowd was boring.
No need to debate on a sell out. I haven't read every post so not sure if it was mentioned but the entire upper level was empty. I watched as people entered and they had staff upgrading seats to those seated in a section other than the lowest level. I guess blah would be the best description of the crowd as a whole. It was so different from the first time she was at Ceasar's. There were the usual fans but for the most part I think the crowd was made up of people just wanting to see a show and not caring who it was. In a way I got excited when Stand Back was first because I was sure she would have added new songs to the setlist. Even though she didn't, it was a great show and I'll still go see her on this summer's tour. The security guard told me before Edge that the order of the setlist had changed from the printed copy they were given. As for the t-shirts. great if you were a lady but the only men's shirt that I saw was the Dreams Vegas shirt with the new dates. And no tourbooks - just Teddy bears ![]() |

I don't want to wish anything ill upon Mama, but the fact that she is not selling out such a small theatre is telling. Mama brought this on herself- this is what she gets for not keeping things fresh for her audience- either by changing the set list or releasing new material. I hope it does make her a little bit concerned. I hope this sends home the message that she can't expect people to keep paying to see the same tired sh*t over and over again, especially when tickets cost $160 a pop. Money talks, as the old saying goes... |

Ever since Stevie resurrected SDMHA back in Vegas 2005, she has been singing it in a much lower key. I believe she lowered it by a two whole steps, or even a third- but, I'll have to check on my piano later at home.

My memory was telling me that she opened Las Vegas with SDMHA and that's where I noticed the ridiculous key drop. But, it was TISL. Jeezus, was that really SIX years ago!!! |
