As for people displacing people it happens all the time, it happens even today and nobody likes it but its not like its unprecedented....

The West did not want them - The US actually turned them away. So, the West thought, screw the people there, we are the West and we don't want them and this is how it's going to be. I mean why not let them go there on their own? Why make a nation and piss everyone off for decades? But, they/we did and the price is still being paid.

Again, I would not like some foreign entity telling me to vacate my property for a bynch of boat people no one wanted - would you?
