But I have hope, the Cubs rookie pitchers that have pitched this season have been rather good despite their records-Marmal, Marshall especially.
Hey, dont give up yet. Andre Dawson won the MVP for the Cubs in '87 for a last place team.

I remember Hawk winning in '87, but MVP voting is different that Cy Young. Votes in the past for the Cy Young usually go towards a pitcher on a winning team, even if another player on a losing team has had a better season.

Speaking of voting, I saw on EPSN last night that when MLB players were asked on a ballot who is the most over-rated player in all of Baseball, the choice was shocking:

Derrick Jeter

That surprises me, because I consider Pay-Rod, I mean A-Rod, as over-rated...And that is my opinion even though I am a Yanks fan!

I find that hard to believe. I think Derek Jeter is the biggest gamer in baseball today, adn I'm a Red Sox fan. That really surprises me that players would pick him. Another player that never seems to get the press he deserves is Todd Helton for the Rockies. I know it's rarified air there, but the numbers this guy has consistently put up are amazing!

make too much an issue with the 'rarified air' at Coors' Field.

I do agree that Rockies 1B Todd Helton is often overlooked, As is the Rangers SS Michael Young-Put 'em on a large market team and these 2 would be huge stars.

Hell, the Cubs 3B Aramis Ramirez is also overlooked, He has hit more HR's than any other 3B in MLB since 2003-And yes, he has more than "Pay-Rod". Aramis, yesterday hit #30, Which give him his third straight season of 30+ HR's. He is he first consistent 3B for the Cubs since Ron "Should be in the HOF" Santo!

I have a couple points:

1) Derek Jeter is as underrated as he is overrated. I dare anyone to tell me who the most clutch player in baseball is without mentioning Papi or DJ.

2) I totally agree about guys like Todd Helton and Michael Young. There is a reason those teams wont let studs like them go.

3) I still want Scott Rolen on the Yankees.
