I think she was. She was certainly one of the few women rockers of her day.

If you compare her music to others during the time period, Stevie has been "rock" up until The Other Side of the Mirror. Midtempo pop in the Bella Donna era was Air Supply and Quarterflash . Whereas TISL would be considered AAA format versus someone like Creed being considered "rock" for that time period.

You're right. On the surface she looks more like a pop/ballad singer with her hits but her fans can surely label her a rock star from her live performances throughout her career - even today. Her association with Fleetwood Mac alone gives her rock star status. I mean you can't put her in the same group as Celine Dion, Mariah Carey or Diana Ross...those ladies are pop stars and are definitely not rockers.

I think if she mixed up her setlists more, that would be one way to please everybody. I think all the facets of Steviefandom can agree that that one little thing would satisfy a part of all of us.

She lowers keys when she's painted into a corner (like "Stop Draggin'....") with disasterous results (although Saturday night's version was surprisingly rocking, despite the key change).

But it's really not worth discussing because there's no way this one would even be considered by Stevie.

I don't even think that selection has crossed her mind.
