I'm not one for Oprah either, I believe she herds people around her like sheep. People do things solely because SHE says to do them. Think for yourselves people.

And Stevie would never go on there...she's not what Oprah would be looking for.

I confess! I actually emailed The Oprah show when TISL came out and asked them to have Stevie on. Stevie would be great on Oprah. I think she could definately fill a hour's worth of television. Didn't she do a primetime special on ABC or NBC during the TISL period? 20/20, Primetime Live or Dateline? Not a whole hour but a decent interview. I'll have to check my VCR tapes.

I'm still waiting for Oprah to respond to my email.

Yes, she did do something like that, but it was very "generic." "Yes, I'm happy to be off of drugs, they zapped my creativity...I'd love to do another album w/ FM...Lindsey and I are good friends...my music is my art...it's my life...I can't pick a favorite song, it would be like choosing your favorite child."

Stevie is a private person--if people want dirt, they aren't going to get it.

Too bad that plans for the show fell through. Ladd, despite adoring her & being in love with her, always had the knack for getting her to talk, & the things he said in return weren't numnuts.

Of all the press Stevie did for TISL in 2001, my favorite was the series of face-to-face interviews she did with an intelligent music critic, Anthony de Curtis. Anthony is no Stevie idolator, but he thought highly enough of her career that he was able pose engaging questions that we ourselves might have wanted to ask. He also had enough of a brain to keep an interview on a businesslike keel instead of letting it sink into sanctimonious James Lipton crap.

I'd also love for any of the great writers on Fleetwood Mac from the past -- David Gans, Steve Morse, Robert Hilburn, Ken Tucker, etc. -- to take on a lengthy conversation with Stevie. (The guy who recently died -- the chief editor at Billboard -- would have been good, too.)

As for Charlie Rose, bah. Lindsey's interviews with him were embarrassments; Rose has no clue but, like the chirpy little bright kid up front in class, wants to be thought of as "on the wavelength." Rose is a numnuts.

Thanks for all posting to this topic, I didn't realise there would be an
interest, I have emailed Oprah, but no luck yet, I don't think there will
be a reponse which is poor form.

Stevie or all of Fleetwood Mac would be great on Oprah. Living in
Australia we don't get much news on them, so a whole show about them
would be fantastic.
