These kids have been drama queens since day one. 40+ years on, they're even more stubborn due to all the years of money, fame, power, and now they're old curmudgeons on top of all that. Of course recording an album wouldn't be easy or drama free. All the same, I don't think a one of them wants to close the book on the band without one last album. If the Eagles could pull it off, so can these guys. Not just that- since the Eagles put out one final album, you know the Mac will follow suit. This is why Christine came back, after all- so the band could put a nice neat bow on their history.

I SO agree with your last sentence.IMO,Chris didn't just randomly come back to this band after 15 - 16 years,there is a reason for it.After she made that guest appearance last year she said it was fun,she did not cry or get goosebumps,and she didn't feel one iota of envy.Now all of a sudden it's like "I wanna thank these guys for giving me a second chance". I'm like "oh please".This was all SO totally planned for a while.Maybe Stevie managed to "scrape" up that 5 million.
