I wonder if she really understands the message of the song. I mean, "real reporting" of the war? Was a word dropped there? was it supposed to be "real time?"

I am going to assume that didn't come out the way she intended.
I know I thought that as well.

I think she refers to that as well as the very obvious attempt to play for ratings and public support for the war because viewers in the beginning had, for lack of a better word, a "bloodlust" for the horrible details and pictures from the killing fields that were caught by the embedded reporters - almost like they were detached enough to think they were playing a twisted video game in real time. I think she refers to the almost glamourization, if you will, of that that embeded reporters seem to give. Does that make sense?
