The crapy sounding crumbs Dave's tossing out suck. It's like he thinks people are on their hands and knees. I wish he would send some decent previews if anything. Like we got for albums TISL, etc

I'm old, so I can ask and answer the following with authority: You know what the fans got to chew on between Wild Heart and Rock a Little? Nothing. Barely even a photograph.

You know what the fans got teased with between Mirage and Tango? Nothing.

Dave doesn't have do this, and I'm sure he has to work very hard to cajole SN into allowing him to release any info/imagery about the record. I for one like the teasers.

And, it's all free.

Agreed ! And, call me old-fashioned, but somehow this waiting without any sound snippets made getting an album more exciting.

AMEN!

I'm old too, and for years and years, fans were treated to NOTHING between records. I'm extremely grateful for Dave and his willingness to post these teasers. Is the quality great? No. But has my appetite been whetted and my excitement level raised? Yes!

Keep 'em coming!

Yes!! Dave and Stevie are under no obligation to treat fans to this info. The audio quality may not be great, but I'm digging every second. As a member of the generation that did not learn about Stevie until the 1990s, I am so grateful for what technology and the internet now allows!

Any idea when this cd is actually going to be released? Spring 2015?

October. As in, four months from now! or so Dave says. Guess it could be delayed, but I hope not.

We've also heard November, from I believe Stevie herself. Either way, in theory, we will get the album late this Fall.

I still wonder if that can be pulled off, though. It's nearly July and the songs are still being mixed. They haven't been mastered, yet. Does Stevie have a record contract? If not, has she shopped one? If she does have a contract, has distribution for the album been worked out? Seems doubtful seeing as the album isn't complete yet. What about the album artwork, has any of that been done? Has a marketing team been assigned yet? How can either marketing or distribution been settled if she doesn't have an official title for the album yet, either? We know the Mac already has TV bookings for this Fall- does Stevie have her own bookings yet? There are just so many factors which seemingly haven't been resolved yet, which make my question such an aggressive release date. Trust me, I truly hope we get the album this Fall. And NOT just on iTunes. But I do question that viability at this point, though.

I also would LOVVVVVVVVVEEEE a Fall release date, and hope it truly comes to fruition. But I'm preparing myself when the evitable announcement of "May 2015" comes so I won't be too disappointed. It happens all the time with this woman.

Mastering is simple. After mixing - it's all recorded to one reel (or digital file). The master is sent to the CD plant, or to the vinyl plant where it will be cut into a lacquer that is used to create the plates used to press records. None of this takes long.

Dave said they only have four songs left to mix. There's really no reason to expect delays, unless her label decides to postpone the album for competitive reasons.

Cover photos & artwork layout can be completed in a day by a good graphics team. It will take longer for Stevie to approve it than to to design it. She's made it clear that this is the fastest she's ever worked, and so there's momentum that I'm certain she doesn't want to lose.

Marketing? As if. Labels don't market artists anymore. Market yourself or fade to obscurity. Even Gaga gets no label support.

if Christine's info is correct, Stevie was fulfilling a "contractual agreement" while the rest of the Mac was working on the new album. that signals that SN's album is under WB contract, which should solve a good number of questions about the release, marketing, etc.

Christine also anticipates FM album release some time around April 2015, so i guess SN's album this fall would make sense.

so well put. I remember practically foaming at the mouth, waiting for TOSOTM to come out. We had the single but that was it. Nothing like today. I'm very grateful for Dave and honestly, hearing the snippets has made me more anxious for this record cause everything sounds so good so far!
