How is the area around the venue? We are staying right down the street and walking to the venue

It is clean and safe and lots of people around when an event is on. You will be fine walking to/from the venue-as in any city/downtown be sensible, but you shouldn't expect trouble. The area is known as the arena district and has been developed in recent years so there are restaurants, bars, etc and of course construction eyesores. Yesterday was my first trip down there in months and here were many new apt buildings, restaurants etc.

I am staying at the renaissance hotel and was wondering how far of a walk it is to the venue? I am trying to plan preshow dinner with those going and was wondering what good restaurants there are nearby.

That looks good! Hope to see everyone on the 4th. If I miss any of the pre-show gatherings I'll be in FL2 Row 4 either seat 3 or 4. Can't wait.

We think the walk is about a mile or just under-I have not been to that hotel but perhaps someone else will have better info.
