it's pure perfection - the best album that never was.

you can find bootlegs floating around and download the whole album. i usually like to add Wear You Down and Deep Dense to the songs that usually come on that bootleg file.

It rivals OOTC....some days surpasses it. Too bad it was never released. Just glad I have it.

Ugh. The mere mention of "Not Make Believe" still makes me irritated. The demo was sooo much better. I mean , WTH was up with Stevie's delivery in the finished version? - "It. Wasn't. Just. That. We. Caused. Each. Other. Such. Pain."

What the hell were they thinking? I remember being so excited to hear it because it was one of my favorites. So disappointing.

I hope "Without You" doesn't turn out like that did.

never heard NMB demo and i'm not sure i'd want to.

but i did have to make a separate car CD where something else follows stellar Love Minus Zero, because having to hear Not Make Believe right after it would always almost make me want to swerve of the road.

I hardly ever give this album any attention. Christine's gone, Lindsey's songs are always my least favorite, and Stevie's voice during this era is just awful.

...I kinda enjoy/like the Time album more than this one.

Granted that it's always a matter of opinion, when FM songs go badly I often think of this quote from Lindsey back in 2004: "Left to my own devices, I would've much rather preferred to be in a group like The Clash."

With all due respect to creativity, The Clash is nothing like FM, and vice-versa. So I think when one tries to combine the two it just turns to mush. There's times for "pushing the envelope" and then there are times to just leave the envelope alone.

I think Stevie sounds OK on this album and, if they'd pared it down to 12 songs, I would have loved it a lot more. I really don't like Lindsey's voice or 3 or 4 of his songs on it.

I'd have:

Murrow
Thrown Down
Miranda
Say You Will
Peacekeeper
Smile At You
Running Through The Garden
Steal Your Heart Away
Bleed to Love Her
Destiny Rules
Say goodbye
Goodbye Baby

I actually would have been OK with that, Christine-less though it may be.
