say you will questions

20 tracks were originally set for release as a double album but only 18 made the cut and it ended up being a single disc, does anyone know what the other 2 tracks were? Maybe the 2 tracks on the second disc on the deluxe edition?

Secondly the cd was enhanced with web links etc..can't access this content...any clues how to access it?

mylittledemon 03-08-2013 04:42 PM

Hey Rich, the other two tracks were on the deluxe version of SYW (with the red cover)... they are "Love Minus Zero" and "Not Make Believe."

As far as the web content, I'd imagine the content doesn't exist any longer. You know how abysmal the band's management is with web-related stuff. ;)

Lindsey's Rolling Stones cover of "I Am Waiting" and "Gift Of Screws" were two songs that were originally slated for the double disc SYW (were "reviewed" in Guitar Player magazine edition with Lindsey on the cover before the final SYW tracking order was finalized)

Good stuff Chili! I had forgotten about those... makes since especially since GoS was supposed to be the album title.

Additionally, it is rumoured that Stevie's compositions "Mistaken Love" and "All The Beautiful Worlds" were also recorded for the album, but I have never been able to substantiate this information. I remember reading about these titles somewhere on this forum back in the day - can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks for the replies...I'm working on a new edition of SYW for myself which drops 2 of Lindsey and Stevie's tracks and weaves in 4 tracks from Christine McVie's 'In the meantime' dropping

Murrow
Everybody finds out
running through the garden
come

and adding

friend
you are
calumny
givin' it back

any other ideas??

The cd single versions of SYW and Peacekeeper add a further problem in deciding which mix to use!!

I love this idea, though I'd drop Givin It Back for Northern Star or Liar.

I'd keep the songs you're dropping of Stevie and Lindsey's except Come and get rid of Silver Girl, Red Rover and Illume.

:D

Some of it's on Say You Will, some is on Under the Skin, and some is on Gift of Screws.

it's pure perfection - the best album that never was.

you can find bootlegs floating around and download the whole album. i usually like to add Wear You Down and Deep Dense to the songs that usually come on that bootleg file.

It rivals OOTC....some days surpasses it. Too bad it was never released. Just glad I have it.

Ugh. The mere mention of "Not Make Believe" still makes me irritated. The demo was sooo much better. I mean , WTH was up with Stevie's delivery in the finished version? - "It. Wasn't. Just. That. We. Caused. Each. Other. Such. Pain."

What the hell were they thinking? I remember being so excited to hear it because it was one of my favorites. So disappointing.

I hope "Without You" doesn't turn out like that did.

Jamie
