Well, it's a stretch, but Lou and Stevie have technically worked together- he opened for Stevie at Woodstock in 1997. He was "edgy" alright... that is, if "edgy" = "droning bore."

I'm going to make one more no doubt futile effort to have my point understood and then I'm going to stop, no matter how entertaining the provocation.

Here are some facts:

I don't especially like Lou Reed, so you can say what you like about him.

You will not find anything in any of my posts about Lou Reed that praises his work, only the hypothesis he has historically been more willing to eschew what is commercially safe and lucrative than Lindsey Buckingham has. I chose Lou because he came to mind, is all.

This is all an argument of degree, not perfection.

As for being 'edgy', I said that about LB, not Lou Reed. You're an intelligent person, Hejira. You knew that.

IS FLEETWOOD MAC DONE? Mick Fleetwood, the 64-year-old drummer who founded Fleetwood Mac in London in 1967 with bassist John McVee and guitarists Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer, tells Playboy, "I don't believe Fleetwood Mac will ever tour again, but I really hope we do."

Fleetwood says Mac was ready to tour in 2010, but didn't. Then the band delayed touring in 2011 and once more in 2012 because of members' solo projects. First, singer guitarist Lindsay Buckingham released a solo album, "Seeds We Sow" and toured behind it. That was followed by singer Stevie Nicks' solo album, "In Your Dreams," and tour.

Tours of this magnitude take months to prepare. While Nicks is currently off the road, she's made plans for three solo shows in New England from June 29-July 10 before hitting the road with Rod Stewart from July 20 through Aug. 9, as she did last summer. There goes the lucrative summer concert season.

So, in the meantime, Buckingham decided to play several southern California solo shows. He'll be at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, north of San Diego, on May 3; at the Wiltern in Los Angeles on May 4; back down the 5 to the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano on May 5; and up to the Thousand Oaks Performing Arts Center on May 6.

"I've always been supportive of my band doing solo albums, so long as we kept our band together," says Fleetwood.

One concert promoter tells Playboy that an eight month tour would net each band member $10 million.

Fleetwood expressed his frustration at having to pass on the big money. "It is certainly a blow to all of us financially." He's putting the band's future all on Nicks. "It all comes down to her, and for the first time, I think even Lindsey has lost his patience."

Fleetwood understands Nick's thinking, to a point. "Stevie is really proud of her new album and I get that, but she will not let it go...she's insistent upon working it until it's incapable of growing further. She has become enthralled and obsessed with her album in a very nice but very inconvenient way. She's working 20 times harder than she would ever have to do with Fleetwood Mac and not making anything close to as much money as she would with us. But this is what she wants to do, and I respect that."

That statement is frustrating on a number of levels. First of all, I'm tired of all the $$$$$$$ drama.

I know everyone loves money, but dang. Is everything ALWAYS about money?

Stevie's cashing in with Rod, sure. But at least she is seemingly trying to stick with her most recent project and has SOME sort of creative incentive behind it all, beyond just needing some cash.

But this is what she wants to do, and I respect that.

And if you respected her decision, you wouldn't be airing this out in the public.

I keep seeing references to a 2010 tour. That was never the plan, was it? Unleashed ran to Christmas 2009. I think they had reached saturation levels at that point.

The $10 million per band member isn't right either, is it? For a long time, I assumed there was an equal split among members, but don't we now know that Stevie will make close to 3 times what Mick does from a Mac tour?

I also like the quote about working 20x harder than she has to, as if working hard is a bad thing. Also, I don't even think it's true. The pace and schedule of a Fleetwood Mac tour always seems grueling to me and often seems to take a toll on Stevie. I think her solo tours are a lot easier for her.

Finally, can some kind Ledgie PM me with instructions on how to do multiple quotes in a single post because yes, I am that dumb.

They had plans to do a stadium tour with The Eagles in the Spring of 2010; perhaps that was what Mick was referring to. I seem to recall that the idea was, er, nixed because Stevie didn't like the thought of performing in broad daylight.

When they last did tour, didn't someone with "inside" knowledge, post that the breakdown is:
Stevie - 40%
Lindsey - 30%
Mick - 15%
John - 15%

I'm almost positive that I remember those numbers being posted(not that that makes them true, but that sounds like a fairly logical breakdown).

Wow, first I've heard of this. Is this just Mick's opinion or does Lindsey feel the same way as Mick? Of course Lindsey has his own solo album he is promoting. Is Mick upset with Lindsey, too?

^ I mean, obviously we don't know what's been said behind closed doors. I was under the impression that Lindsey was supportive of Stevie taking her time with IYD since she had such a good experience with the whole process and she hadn't enjoyed making a record that much in a long time.. at least, that's what he expressed in all the interviews that I read. And he also threw out mentions of maybe just him and Stevie doing something together re:Buckingham Nicks - I don't think he was all that preoccupied with something having to happen with FM.

Also: AS IF that is the first time Lindsey has lost patience with Stevie.

I think that's Micks opinion. Stevie said Lindsey told her not to rush....

I'll just name two people, Bob Brunning and Bob Weston. Who would have thought a year ago that these two would have died in a year? Nobody knows what tomorrow brings. Hell, nobody knows what will happen an hour from now. Stevie and Lindsey both owe all of their success to Fleetwood Mac. If they hadn't joined the band, it's likely they wouldn't have had the success they did have in the band. Certainly they helped contribute to the success of the band, but Fleetwood Mac would have gone on without them, regardless of record sales. I think they both owe it to the band and to us fans to do one last album and tour. If they aren't interested and Mick is truly serious about having one last album/tour for Fleetwood Mac, he should phone up Rick, Billy, Bekka, Bob Welch and/or Dave Mason.

Imagine Lindsey Buckingham shaking his tush to "I Feel the Earth Move Under My Feet."

Plus, she could play a little blues piano on "Smackwater Jack."
