^^^^Thank, God! U2 is awful. But, to that point, no "Lips Like Sugar" for the 80s!?!? Blue Monday for New Order (arguably their worst song) instead of "True Faith" (the greatest single of ALL TIME. period. the end.). NO SMITHS???!!!!!!! -- that automatically makes the list null and void.

"Being Boring" is not the best Pet Shop Boys track, but it is the height of their sophisticated pop--my aunt and uncle would pick it as their best, I'd wager. It's a great song.

I'm glad Fleetwood Mac made this list. It makes sense that Dreams was the song chosen since it was their only #1 hit song.

Some of the song choices for the other artists are interesting.

Surprised there's no Elton John for the 70's.. he ruled the 70's, Tiny Dancer is a melody unmatched! And no U2?!? What the hey? They are the greatest anthemic rock band ever and you cannot argue that point... The Edge put an ethereal feel to their music that I have never experienced with any other band on earth. No Stevie song, no FMac song, no any song can give me the chills at least 10 U2 songs give me.

Enough of that... I'm SO GLAD Joni Mitchell's ''A Case Of You'' is up there... she is an insanely awesome & underrated artist. Love it!

And in Fleetwood Mac's case, I think Dreams was a good choice. If not Dreams than Rhiannon!

There's a few choices on there that make me think "...really?" like Single Ladies for Beyoncé instead of Crazy In Love.

Dreams is a great song and all, but I would have chosen The Chain, Rhiannon, Little Lies or Go Your Own Way, from Fleetwood Mac, I think. But still, I guess Dreams got chosen because it was their only #1.

I'm glad you posted this list because I am now interested in knowing songs from 1960 and before. These selections are a good place to start.

6 of my favorite songs are on this list, so i'm also quite surprised, but in a good way. Suite : Judy Blue Eyes, especially, is an excellent song and deserves this. Dreams deserves this too. Usually Fleetwood Mac die-hard fans don't recognize its awesomeness, but people outside, who don't really know the band, tend to like this song more than the others, at first.
And also it's my favorite song ever, so i'm happy, right now, for this .
