Question #14: Favorite Nicks Quote..

I actually have always liked Gate and Garden, for some reason. I know the lyrics aren't anything special, but I do really enjoy the song. I guess everyone has a Stevie song like that.

It's the one in PastelGravel's signature:
"Your graciousness is what carries you....If you are gracious, you have won the game." -Stevie Nicks, 2011 When I was watching that interview, I had to rewind it to write this quote down because I just loved it. |

13) The Wild Heart just edges it for me. Although I think the quality of Belladonna is more consistently high, the standouts on the Wild Heart just shine brighter in my opinion. Enchanted, The Wild Heart, Stand Back, If Anyone Falls, Nightbird and Sable on Blonde are all classics to me.

14) I like what she said about how if she's having lunch with someone, she wants all their attention, she doesn't expect you to be sending text messages etc.
I also love how she says that social networking is evil. I think I read that on the 'Ask Stevie' section on the nicksfix.

Precisely. Besides being a conscientiously crafted & timeless recording & cherry picking from most of the best that was in Stevie's songwriting vault from @73' to 81'. Had Bella Donna not succeeded to the degree it did, it could have been the beginning and the end of her solo recording career.

Another "bump" for ease of adding:
Question #1: "Crying In The Night". It was the first song on the first album I heard of Stevie Nicks. Wasn't really the SONG that "drew me in"...it was the album cover (DUH!!). Question #2: can't narrow it to one, difficult enough to narrow it to 5. Don't have time to search 'em out right now, but will come back to edit this question when I find the photos. Question #3: Fleetwood Mac at Anaheim Stadium (Sept 75) when they opened for Loggins & Messina and The Faces. The "Rhiannon" that day was jaw-droppingly stunning. Question #4: Yes, I will admit that there've been a few occasions where my eyes have welled up while listening to either a Stevie song, or one of her songs with Fleetwood Mac. Ok, I remember, USUALLY it's after one of the pre-79 live "Rhiannon"'s Question #5: Her relationship with.....ME! Because that's the only one I know the intimate details about. (and, yes, I AM being serious) Question #6: "Dreams". No..."Silver Springs". No..."Dreams". Well, either one of those two. Question #7: "No Spoken Word", "Ghosts Are Gone", "Sisters Of The Moon", any live "Rhiannon" before 1979 (the weird occurance of "smiling" AND "crying" simultaneously).[/QUOTE] Question #8: wouldn't really have one (a tombstone, that is, since I want to be creamated & ashes poured into the surf in SoCal)...but, for the game's sake: "I have always been a storm". Question #9: Patti Smith's version of Buddy Holly's "Words Of Love". Her arrangement sounds custom made for Stevie. Question #10: "Dinner tonight? Or, breakfast tomorrow?" Question #11: I Can't Wait Sable On Blond Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind Rooms On Fire Planets Of The Universe No Spoken Word Ghosts Are Gone Touched By An Angel Bella Donna Talk To Me In Your Dreams Sorcerer Violet & Blue If I Were You Stand Back (encore 1) Moonlight Edge Of Seventeen (encore 2) Gold Dust Woman Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You Question #12 (uh, there were TWO #11's people...nobody noticed? Shame on you!): What she wore for that photo shoot on the hood of the race car. Question #13 (or 12 for those who haven't been counting): A beach, a sunset, a crackling fire, a bottle of champagne on ice, an acoustic guitar Question #14 (c'mon people, keep up...or recount the questions YOU'RE OFF BY ONE...STILL!!!!): Bella Donna Question # 15: I don't have one. ![]()

"By the time I was five, I was a little diva." "He and I were about as compatible as a rat and a boa constrictor." "Right now I'm not involved with anybody, but I hope by 75 I will be again." I'll post more later |

Question #14 or 15:
"Christine the pop star, Lindsey the gnarly gnome, and Stevie the miserable, philosophical fairy." "No Click?!?!" "This. is. serious" "We tangle a lot, but we love each other ~ we'll always love each other. He and I will never get away from the fact that we were as one for so many years." "When I look at the audience out there it's like I'm looking at my children." "So this is like for me a very special time, because I feel wild, I'm very wild and so is my audience and there is that incredible. We are all in love. Everybody's in love and I feel it when I walk out on stage, and they feel it, and its like, you know, it's really deep and very much all consuming for me." "If you are gracious, you have won the game" ![]() "Don't you ever think that you don't matter...to me your the only thing in the whole world that matters" ![]() Clearly I don't enjoy Stevie's quotations that much ![]()

Favorite quotes (sorry, they're kind of long...from a 1981 interview):
"A certain number of my relationships are ruined, not because of the people involved but because of my other commitments. And so, every time, I'm just a little less interested in starting something up, because what has happened before is probably going to happen again. It's not a lack of interest on my part; it's a lack of time to be interested. I have so many commitments that he would have to come fourth-and I don't like making anybody feel he's fourth." "there have been some reviews-which I’ve loved-that said I didn't try to sell my show on sex, that I sang my show. On the other hand, I know I'm cute. I can dance. I don't have a bad figure. I know exactly what I am. I'm certainly no great beauty. I know exactly how far I can go. " "I think you live on earth a certain number of times until you finish what it is that you were meant to do here. And then you go on. I don't think I'll be back. I think I'm done. "
