Since journals mean so much to Stevie, I'd say it is a very thoughtful gift, especially for a young person or a graduate. Sheryl Crow is kind of old and has been a songwriter and artist for a long time now. If she hadn't been keeping a journal before now, I don't think Stevie's gift would change her creative habits. That's probably why the pages seem blank.

If this were The Price is Right, I'd say $40. Looks like the appointment books American Express sends out at the end of every year and tries to trick you into buying, by conveniently billing it to your credit card automatically unless you send it back.
