I was almost afraid to ask this, but here it goes:
I have a 5 yr old male cat. About 2 or 3 times a year, he gets the most awful smell coming out of his bottom. It is not poop. I think he has something wrong with his anal glands. I've seen dogs with this condition (I worked briefly at a Vets office) but never in my life have I seen a cat have it. Dogs usually rub their butts on the ground (or carpet) but I don't think cats can do that. or at least I hope not. anyway, just want to know if anyone has had experience with this (dog or cat) what should I do? I tried squeezing it, but needless to say he didn't like that at all. is there something I'm doing wrong to make him have it? should I let the Vet take care of it? ($75 to squeeze my cat's ass)
