We went to see Lindsey play a brief set for a big Don Henley-organized bash for his pet environmental project in 1986, & Lindsey spoke very believably about how the in-production Fleetwood Mac album (no name yet) was this cathartic healing experience for everybody in the band. The future of Fleetwood Mac looked rosy, indeed, from that vantage point.

The August 1987 split hit with a fury.

Also, from the few interviews we have before the split things looked ok. I've seen more undercurrents between them during other albums than for that one.
