Default Austin American Statesman: Best Bet

http://www.austin360.com/event/event...eventid=113207
AA-S Best Bet:

Best known as the guitarist and singer for iconic pop band Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham goes his own way with remarkable success.

Buckingham teamed up with Stevie Nicks in high school and began his career, as well as their tumultuous romantic relationship, with the band Buckingham Nicks. Though the first album was a commercial failure, Mick Fleetwood was impressed by Buckingham's guitar skills and asked both musicians to join Fleetwood Mac in 1974. The band went on to sell more than 100 million records. Buckingham's fourth solo album, "Under the Skin" (2006), is a fluid mix of folk and rock, highlighting his skills as both a musician and writer.

XL Recommended - Lindsey Buckingham:
Lindsey Buckingham brings his first U.S. solo tour in nearly 14 years to Austin! Buckingham and his three-piece band present an innovative, tightly orchestrated minimalism that captures the spirit of the Fleetwood Mac singer and guitarist's most recent solo album Under the Skin.

Rolling Stone says Lindsey Buckingham is one of rock's most undervalued visionaries." Why undervalued? Perhaps his versatility as a writer, singer, virtuoso guitarist and producer has made it difficult to assign him an easy label. As the musical architect behind Fleetwood Mac, one of the most popular bands of all time, Buckingham has played the key role in stoking the hit-making machinery, yet he is also a seeker, a chance taker willing to shake up the status quo for the sake of new ideas.

On Under the Skin Buckingham has distilled his art to its essence: voice and guitar, with minimal percussive and production elements to create a work of unprecedented maturity, both virtuosic and intimate.
