Like or Dislike: Rose Garden

[skcin]

I love this song. I have always loved this song. I know, it's kind of countryish, but I don't think that's a bad thing. It's a clean, simple, pretty song about love & loss & regret. The music fits the lyrics very well.

The harmonies on this verse are amazing:

"You never promised me a ring made out of diamonds
A band of gold you said was all you could buy
You never said I'd be a rich man's lady
And oh my darling...no, you never lied"

Love this verse:

"And now you're gone...and I'm alone, and I'm so lonely
Nothing seems to be the same
One day I turned around and you no longer loved me
In my life there's been a big change"

It's definitely interesting to me that she wrote this in 1965. I don't think Stevie can see the future or anything but still interesting. OH! I loved it live on boots from the Enchanted Tour. Just beautiful.
