Like or Dislike: Gate and Garden

[skcin]

The lyrics? Don't make much sense.
The music? Is nothing that special.
The chorus? Is pretty repetitive.

Despite all of this, I still adore Gate & Garden. Everything somehow fits & makes it great. And the vocals? Sheebus. Just incredible. The harmonies are gorgeous & Stevie has great control here (that goes for pretty much all of TWH album, now that I think about it.)

The way she sings these lines get me every time:

"It's just a game...that...we...play
Someone steals it...

Someone...steals it away
Scares you to death
You don't give in to yourself
You give in to your friends
Don't send an answer
How many times...have you said"

Live...would I have liked this live. Yes, I think so. Then or now. I think she could still do it justice. Well, maybe not that ending "do IIII LLLLlllOOooOOoovvVVvve youuuuuuu" but the rest would be good.
