Default "Secret Love" leaps up UK Top 100 radio play chart

"Secret Love" moves up to #54 on the UK Radio Airplay chart. It was at #113 last week. This is the comprehensive chart.

BBC Radio 2 - the most listened to station in the UK - also named "In Your Dreams" "Album of the Week." Different tracks from the album will be played during the week. Plus Q Magazine named "Italian Summer" the #8 song in its monthly Top 50 Essential songs to download this month.

I was hoping for this—some love from Europe. Stevie has gained in popularity over there the last 10 years. If that song hits in the top 40 it will be a success. I'm sure the Dave Stewart has helped over there, but I noticed that In Your Dreams is getting GREAT reviews over there. They like it over there. I wonder what successes this album will find. I hope Europe is one of them. Maybe she will tour over there.

A proper tour would be nice, I suppose an hour set at the Hard Rock Calling show this coming Sunday and the CD signing in London on Monday is the best us UK fans can hope for. Maybe if IYD is classed as a success she may do more activities

I am not aware of any TV show tie-ins either, shame, maybe something will pop up over the next few days

I don't remember Trouble In ShangriLa really receiving any Euro-love. Maybe all this over-seas promo will help increase over-all sales and also help keep it in the public eye longer, therefore giving it more time & opportunity to sort of sink into the general public's consciousness, helping it to be seen and recognized as a "classic" album. Hopefully?!?

In short it didn't. The only solo album Stevie actively did press & then tour Europe was for OSOTM - thus "Rooms On Fire" & OSOTM being her biggest solo hits over there.

So this is fantastic for Stevie & her UK fans! I've also seen press pop up for Stevie & IYD in Ireland, Germany, Spain & of course the UK. Liz must be doing her job beyond the US for once. Stevie Nicks - the solo artist - has always been more underground and a bit of a late bloomer in Europe (outside of FM). Stevie's profile in Europe started building again in the last 8 years or so, and suddenly younger artists overseas started taking notice. I suspect It slowly started after the SYW album & world tour, followed by the hit cover of "Rooms On Fire" (2003) by Europa XL ft. Natalie James, followed by "Dreams" By Deep Dish ft. Stevie Nicks (2005) both of which received plenty of airplay across Europe, but particularly in the UK. Then suddenly Stevie started becoming more revered & more respected, thus the many mentions for being influential for bands like "Bats For Lashes, Rilo Kiley & Florence & The Machine and others. Europe has slowly come around to the charms of Stevie and getting her unique contributions to music.

It's exciting to see Stevie finally take advantage of this momentum & it may not have happened without the 2 Stewarts: Dave & Rod Theres potential that the Hard Rock Calling concert & all the press she's doing in Europe will pay off for IYD becoming a modest hit (It's already getting decent reviews in Europe, where they tend to be a lot harsher than the US critics) & "Secret Love is poised to become her first top 40 hit over there since ROF (not counting Deep Dish's "Dreams") So hopefully (for UK starved solo fans) Stevie will launch a short tour after her Aug-Sept US trek, but before her November Australia dates.

Yep the publicity is stepping up a gear in the UK.

Stevie is on BBC Breakfast tomorrow morning, then Lauren Laverne's BBC 6 radio show which starts at 10am until 1pm. Secret Love is still on the A list on radio 2 (along with the album being album of the week.) She is also being interviewed on radio 4 on Friday!

All of this, along with Hard Rock Calling and Monday's signing is sending me over the edge!

I still fail to see why they didn't release the album at the same time as America... is good news the song is doing well on the radio though

Perhaps because news of the album doing well in Europe will make some media noise here and help spike sales a bit.

Because they wanted everyone in Europe to illegally download the album instead.
