See I wonder about this song. I like it but don't love it. When Rooms on Fire came out in 1989, I thought it sucked. But it grew on me and now I like it a lot. It was strange and different.

Also, I was so, so about Crystal Bowersox's new song Farmer's Daughter. But then I saw the video and now I can't stop listening to it.

If you go to Stevie's section in the iTunes store, the song comes up as either #1 in popularity or #3 in popularity depending on where you're looking at it from.

David Wilde of Rolling Stone is still saying that his favorite songs from her new album are Italian Summer, For What It's Worth, In Your Dreams and Annabelle Lee. Those are his big picks. Makes you wonder about Secret Love. He doesn't really talk about except to say it's about his sixth favorite song. She may have made a mistake by releasing this first. Some bad reviews are starting to show up on itunes from more casual Stevie fans.

Everyone has their own taste and opinions .You didn't like "Rooms on Fire" when you first heard it .I loved it right away and still think it is one of her best singles.The fact that people that have heard the album don't even mention it as a highlight is a positive IMO.Secret Love is a well produced solid song with one of her best vocals on record in decades.If it is just a so- so track on the album that doesn't even merit mention then we are likely in for something special and unexpected.Besides like you also mentioned, in this day and age she could probably release" Dreams " or "Hotel California" and it still would not be a hit.

True, Dave just tweeted someone and told them that his favorite songs on Stevie's new album are Italian Love and For What it is Worth.

Me too. This is what scares me the most. The demo has never blown me away, yet this recorded version is one of the best songs on her album?! WTF?!

I absolutely love the demo of Annabel Lee. That's why I'm terrified she's gonna destroy it on the album version.

I like the demo of Annabel Lee.I really think only Stevie or Kate Bush could pull this one off though. What it really needs is an atmospheric production ..if it is done right I could easily see it as being a highlight of an album.

It has been changed. According to Stevie, Dave added a middle to it that is fantastic and it got changed. She's excited by it and David Wilde loves it. I think the real winners are going to be Italian Summer and For What it's Worth. Those songs are getting mentioned everywhere. In Your Dreams and Annabelle Lee next. Secret Love, Cheaper than Free and Everybody Loves You next. And then we get to the interesting, atmoshperic stuff hopefully...
