The variables and caveats are mind-boggling. So difficult to work out -- much less agree on -- what constitutes 'success' with this or any other music product these days. For an artist like SN, who doesn't need to make money to finance her future, I honestly think 'success' has to be defined as good reviews, good concert audiences, and a Grammy nomination would be the cherry on top.

After reading the reviews on itunes, it's clear that Stevie Nicks has a lot of fanatics and that they are the only one buying the song. I don't feel any of the reviews are helpful to anyone because they are soo biased. And one of the reviews on Amazon.com is a sneaky review by a fanatic that basically is bitching about the song being cut short. Uggg.

Doesn't really matter. Most casual fans & new listeners will make their decision to buy on the 1:30 minute preview - which is ample enough (not to mention nearly 1/2 the song!) to determine if they like it or not.

Agreed. When I search a song, I rarely even go look at the page. I just see it listed and I will preview it and click buy. And then I don't EVER post a review for anything. Secret Love was the exception to this tho, since nobody had commented, I felt I had to be the first

Secret Love is the only old demo on the record. Dave tweeted someone. He also said he has 7 cowritten songs on the record.

Maybe by "old demo" he means ones from the 70s. Annabel Lee was from TISL, right?

Also, Secret Love is now #188 on US iTunes, which surprised me, I mean, she's done like, zero promotion for the song right?

Obviously I wish Stevie, the album, and this single all the success in the world but I simply don't love this song. The production is top-notch and the vocal superb but I can't say I really dig the melody of the song itself. I don't dislike it, but I'm far from loving it. That being said I feel positive I will love a lot of other songs on the album, it's just not this one.

I was on the fence with this song when I 1st heard it, like many of her songs that I may of not of liked at 1st has grown on me. The fact that we have a new album that I also was on the fence would ever happen, I'm am pleased as punch this song is listed in the top 10 of anything!!!
