The CD that comes with the vinyl claims to be sourced from the uncompressed vinyl master.

Has anyone who has the vinyl LP listened to the accompanying CD to compare the two different CD masters?

I assumed that it's the same as the CD that was released. Hvaen't yet listened to the CD.

I haven't opened it to hear the CD yet, but this is what the sticker on the vinyl says:

Quote:
180 Gram Vinyl + Audiophile CD. Recorded, mixed & mastered on analog tape includes cd of the uncompressed vinyl master plating & pressing at R.T.I. featuring [I]Did YouMiss Me, The Right Place to Fade & Love Runs Deeper.
Hey, what does R.T.I mean here? Could T.I. mean the same thing that it means on his guitar picks that say L.B.T.I. ?

they're are the same release, however the vinyl doesnt have the limitations that the compact disc has, so the vinyl's uncompressed sound will SURPASS the compact version sonically (ie The MFSL vinyl releases of the Beatles official releases FAR surpass the compact disc in clairity and audio sonics).

One thing I can safely say about either format release of GOS, They will NOT be compressed to the point of ruin as is Metallica's "Death Magnetic" - fans have started a petition to have the album "re-remastered and re-mixed" since the regular compact disc version (Produced/Ruined by Rick Rubin) pales in comparison to the Guitar Hero III download version (Which was sourced from un-compressed/un-mastered masters).

can be found at the following below:

"THERE ARE VERY FEW VINYL RECORD PRESSING PLANTS AROUND ANYMORE, but the ones that have survived now service Audiophile and Dance labels. CLASSIC RECORDS uses RTI, a pressing and plating facility in Camarillo, CA."

Damn, I need to move out West - I could kill 2 birds with one stone:
Work as a Quality Control technician (Which I have a degree in) in a vinyl/record pressing plant (A + for a music ADDICT as myself)

Oh... i'm still confused. so is this cd different (i.e. uncompressed vs. produced?). . .

brighter and more deep on a uncompressed sourced recording. Whereas a compact disc has limitations that "weaken" the sonics of a recording. The recordings are identical on the vinyl and the compact disc, it is just the vinyl doesnt have the limitations as the compact disc.

Here is the mental visual I use to make the comparison of compressed vs. uncompressed: Imagine having a large yard with 3 inches of tall grass - (this will be the uncompressed recording). This yard is lush, plush and very good on the 'tootsies'. To your senses it appears to be perfect (You can see how full it is and you can feel how full it is)

Now imagine you mow that same yard down to a 1 inch height of grass (This is the compressed recording), while it is still nice and comfortable it is missing alot more of the plushness and fullness that the 3 inch tall grass yard has. That appeal from the 3 inch yard has been reduced in size, while it is still the same yard...it is COMPRESSED of what made it a better yard.

Btw, the MFSL vinyl version of Tusk smokes all the other available version

size of the data upon a disc and compression-wise are they different, otherwise they're the same album (not different mixes or re-mixes as some may assume).

i haven't played the vinyl-cd yet to compare to the regular cd. my speakers are all jacked-up and i'm not sure I'll be able to tell the difference (on vinyl, the first two tracks seemed to gain the most).
