Well, the thing is Josh seemingly was never really willing to cut her any slack - or at least the same slack he seemingly gave to other members. Josh also seemed to focus on the negative and never really acknowledge the postitive. But, that was his personage and much of his charm in that he was negative in a clever way. He was also so anti everything establishment it was funny because he worked for that very establishment. All those differences made him a great wit and formidable friend.

I mean who here did not have at least a partial love/hate relationship with Josh

That's nearly perfect, but you forgot to call someone fug & then post a pic of Anderson Cooper to show everyone what cool actually is. Or Jason Bateman. Or Franz Ferdinand. Or Blondie.

Oh, and not that anyone cares, but I will be taking formal vows as a Buddhist and joining Nichiren Shu in January or February. I'm pretty excited about that, too.
Congratulations. I was thinking of you last night because the current issue of Psych Today has a big article on Buddhist meditation and how good it is for your well-being. It changes people's brains so they have more cortex and can be as effective as antidepressants. It also explains how Buddhists see emotions as separate entities from themselves and thus can let them pass. Also, it mentioned how they view happiness as our right and have a lot of teachings regarding being happy. It was a great article.

I hear that. It will be something like when Dubya took office in '04, perhaps worse though I hope not. However, it's not going to happen!!!

I mostly <3'd him but man there were moments! The endless negativity did become grating.

We do all have our issues but some of us cannot handle any mention of our own.

No. I tried to avoid that show at all costs, but a few eps slipped through. Not that one, thank God.

One of the docs I work with is going to an exclusive discussion with him Monday evening (I think it's limited to 200 people.) She's trying to decide on a question to ask. All I could come up with was "What's Richard Gere like? Is he that dreamy in person?" JK

Haha. RG actually walked into my friend's frame shop one day and she said he was really gracious and nice.

Mine was more love than hate . He was only speaking his mind with regard to Stevie..he thought she'd become a tired imitation of what she used to be, and that's his opinion and that's fine if he wants to voice it. He employed a cunning, witty rhetorical strategy, and usually backed up his opinions logically and persuasively. I see no error in that, in fact, I appreciate and admire it. He definitely added spice to this place, so yeah, I still miss him too.

Due to his own bias against and disdain for getting older, IMO, which happens to everyone! You just cannot be 35 forever.

I did like that the Dalai Lama knew who Whitney was, though.

PREACH IT SISTAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, I will never be convinced that Josh was joking most of the time just to a reaction. If fact, he said or implied as much in several posts - no matter how much truth the actual intent had.
