I am sort of a Titanic history buff, too. I believe there are still three survivors living, one of whom was only a couple months old at the time of the Titanic.

I think now there is only 1 survivor left...
Here in Halifax many of the poor souls from the ship are buried here..It is quite something to walk among the headstones and see all the names..so sad..and yet to know it is part of a history that will never be forgotten. May they all rest in peace.. |

BTW, I found a link about the Mourning Bears. They were made by "Steiff": http://www.theage.com.au/news/tv--ra...353444660.html |

I did like the movie, and just recently saw the alternative ending, very interesting, kind of exciting when Bill Paxton have finally the diamond in his hands, but the old lady threw it to the sea anyway...
I guess the movie oversaturated people and that's why some of them started to hating it. The same happened to Bee Gees, Michael Jackson, etc. I remember reading some comments (in 1997 when the movie was released) about the truth verus the myth. They said that the fact of locking all the third class people downstairs, was a lie, an exaggeration. I don't think so. Statiscally, there have survivied more adult men from first class, than women and children from third class, so they sure blocked third class corridors. Do you remember the film from the 50s "A night to remember" ? I found some similarities 1. A just married young couple find the architect in an empty dining room, looking toward the chimney, very similar to Jack and Rose finding gim fixing the clon over the chimney. 2. The upside down boat. There is a very similar scene, but the one in Titanic was deleted. 3. And of course the band playing til the end.. well this is a storic fact. |

I havent read ANY of the other posts in this topic yet, but I laughed really hard when I read this! SPOILERS?! Yeah the whole idea of the movie is a spoiler! The boat f*cking sinks! Duuurrrrr..... Hahahaha....oh man...that was great. Anyway, to answer the original question: The movie sucked then and it sucks now.

Ok I have to eat my words now because they just got a little ruffled over the "Why I Left the Ledge" post. Oh well. I'm human.
