I actually have a Promo CDR of Patty Griffin entitled "Silver Bell" with the following songs (Cant recall where I received this disc from...But definitely NOT demos and/or unfinished material.) so maybe one of you fans can clue me into which albums these are officially released tracks from (Unless "Silver Bell" is the name of the release...Has 3 untitled live tracks tacked unto the end of the disc):

Little God
Boston
Perfect White Girls
Truth #2
What You Are
Silver Bell
Driving
Sooner or Later
Top of the World
Sorry & Sad
Making Pies
Mother of God
One More Girl
Standing
Oh my god! Brian! Silver Bell is actually a completed album that was shelved and never released by A&M. It was supposed to come out after Flaming Red, before 1000 Kisses, but got lost in the shuffle. Then she moved to ATO, who released 1000 Kisses, which has some of these songs. Truth #2 was recorded by the Dixie Chicks... Standing, Top of the World, & Mother of God are on Impossible Dream, and Making Pies is on 1000 Kisses, but I haven't heard hte others!

Cat- let me know if you get a chance what you think of those songs! I'd be happy to upload more.

I love them - especially the live Goodbye, of course - but really, all of them. I love her voice so much. I'd say my faves of the ones you sent are Top of the World and Let Him Fly. I seriously can't believe I'd never heard of this woman before last week. I'd love to hear more if you'd like to send more... onyl if you have time. I love discovering a new artist - just when you think there can't possibly be any good music out there anymore...

Many thanks...

I had forgotten all about that song. Good choice. It's on the Crow soundtrack, right?

I tried to find it on iTunes and puretracks - no luck. But I will persevere. It sounds like it'd be right up my alley right now...

Thinking around that first movie depresses me because of Brandon Lee's untimely death...much like that of his father Bruce. So very tragic...Image hosting by Photobucket

Also, there is a movie called "Pay It Forward" that was heartbreaking...Jane Siberry had a song on that soundtrack as well that she sang with KT Oslin called "Calling All Angels" and here it 'tis - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FZBIXCJ1

I have lots of depressing stuff for the taking...just ask! I just discovered Johnny Cash's last video called "Hurt"...OMG! That poor man...he wanted the peace of death after he lost his wife June. Hard to believe that it was a Nine Inch Nails song at all! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NV16ND9Shttp://www.megaupload.com/?d=NV16ND9S

Cat, I just tested them on all MegaUpload...then re-downloaded them onto my Windows Media Player. They seem to play OK...and they are 192 kps (GREAT sound quality!), so I don't know why they won't play for you! The reason I chose to use MegaUpload over YouSendIt on my files is that they never expire or anything...they are always there for the taking! Try once more to save it to your hard drive and I'll load it with a different call number...

That is exactly how I felt when I 'discovered' her! I'm so happy to have found her though. I can't guarantee any of these will work since I've never done this before....and I sure as heck don't know how to link...but maybe you could cut and paste the links. I just didn't know when to stop because I love her music so much. The song Little god is also one of my favorites, but I can't find it. I can *play* it...but I can't figure out how to get it from the cd to the place where I got the other songs. (tells about my tech sense, doesn't it?)

If this doesn't work, I'm really sorry. I would say I've wasted a lot of time, but I got to listen to a lot of great Patty music. Gotta run, but if you like any of her songs, please buy a CD....she's awesome!

It did work the second time! And I am listening and seriously tearing up right now. The lines that got me... "your tears won't fall, your tears won't fall, your tears won't fall forever..."

Thank you... I love it. (I am a serious glutton for heartache. Is there something wrong with me?)

Kelly, you're the best. I am going to go try out the links - I'm sure they'll work. And you can bet I'm going to buy a CD... thanks for helping me to test run some of her tracks first...

You guys kick ass. Thanks to Livia, who directed me to this thread. I had heard of Patty a few times, but never heard any of her stuff until the Elizabethtown Soundtrack came out. I fell in love with that tune & I MUST get more. Livia was trying to give me some tips on what CD to start with, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll listen to the posted tunes later & take it from there.
