Well, funny you say that, but I may well pit another heavyweight against those two.

Put them up against Oingo Boingo or something, they're guaranteed to win.

Yeah, I'm sure I'd be blown away by the sheer volume of Ledgies who punk out to "You've Got Your Baby Back" on a regular basis.

Without the hardrock of the 70's and johnny rotten, the sound of Nirvana never would have been "big" audiencewise.

Kate Bush, how extreme peculiar she is, is still one of the female popicons in the world. And that with one album per decade and no touring. That's wat I call efficiency in popularity. That woman is brilliant songwise too. And vocally she outlives the other two easily.

So KATE it is for this round.

Sheryl Crow.

I got over Madonna along with my "This is the kind of music I have to listen to now that I'm gay" phase. I don't think I've ever heard anything by Kate Bush.

I have never been a fan of either 3. But I counted all the songs by each artist that I really, really like and Madonna came out as a winner. So Madonna it is.

I love Sheryl Crow but Madonna really is in a league all by herself. So Madonna it is.
