The most appropriate song for this occasion would be HAEWAFY.
Bella Donna and Street Angel would be cool...but will never happen...so would Illume |

"The Big Apple To The Big Easy" Hurricane Relief
from Pollstar.com Tue 09/20/05 Allen Toussaint Tue 09/20/05 Fats Domino Tue 09/20/05 Original Meters Tue 09/20/05 ReBirth Brass Band Tue 09/20/05 The Dirty Dozen Brass Band I don't see why she would have to sing something everyone knows, I mean who are these people!? Stevie could sing "Rooms on fire" and I gaurentee more people would know that better than anything of the people above. ![]()

I know this is vague, but a friend of mine told me she saw a commerical on TV (didn't know what channel) for a benefit concert that will be televised on the 20th - this has got to be the same one.
Hopefully Stevie's site will post something concrete about it soon. ~Jamie |

Each artist will probably only get one song. Maybe two in the case of someone like Bette Midler.
I'd honestly be happy with anything Stevie chooses to sing -- I just think it's incredible that she'll be there. Would be nice to see her do "Has Anyone Ever Written" though. I think it would be the most meaningful song for the occasion.

despite it being done a bunch I think HAEWAFY would be so appropriate for this also despite the one rain reference. If not for me then do it for the the world. The song would be perfect, but I would like if she just left out the danmed men in her life part and the priests of legandary poets part.

Wont make that one at the Zoo since we're planning to see the 2nd annual Cross Canadian Ragweed family jam on the 23rd at the Zoo (Gotta love a concert facility at the OKC Zoo), featuring Cross Canadian Ragweed, Dierks Bentley, Gary Allan and others to be announced. Hopefully this benefit in NYC with Stevie will be televised...

I've checked both the Ticketmaster website a few times as well as the Madison Square Garden website. Thus far, nothing is up except the All Access tour of Madison Square Garden (as far as tickets are concerned) but i'm sure the event is a work in progress. I think i'm going to head up should Stevie definitely be appearing on the bill.

This has got to be televised. They would be fools not to air this on TV since that would certainly bring in a lot more money...

Yea! Then I will drive up to you and we can hop the train. I would say we will see HAEWAFY or Landslide.
