[QUOTE=skcin]I'm trying to remember the exact quote from Grace Slick on VH1's "100 Greatest Women of Rock" or whatever the hell it was called. Something like:

"Oh, yes, the witch, the witch. I love her."

She, uhh. . . . was being sarcastic, I think. . . .

Yup. She was given a Jackie Award for it and when she accepted it, she said "Winning this award is more thrilling then a good bowel movement."

She was serious, though I think her opinion on current Stevie has changed dramatically given her thoughts on old rockers.

Default . . . ."Storms. . . . "

"Here comes a storm in the form of a girl . . .

she's the finest, sweetest thing in the world."

To those of you who say, "That's not actually about

Stevie," I say, "Isn't it??? Isn't it???"

The Jim Ladd one is near the bottom, done in 1983. I'm so excited to have found this website that I've been slacking off at work and reading the interviews all afternoon!!

Thank you, I'd actually read that one before, but forgotten....

the correct lineage from the Grace Slick comment on 100 VH1 Greatest Women is...

"Oh! The Witch...I love her...the magic witch"

I rest my case

Not so much a quote, as it is a sighting - but on The Simpsons, when Homer bowled a perfect game and whipped out his "List of Things To Do Before I Die," to check off "bowl a perfect game." A few entries below that one was, "Date Stevie Nicks," and it had a check-mark next to it!

Just reminded myself of another Simpsons quote - I think it was Burns, talking about Lisa: "She's got more magical witchery than Stevie Nicks."

I love the Keith Olsen quote about her harmonizing talents: "She can wrap her voice around anyone's."

I love that!! That is just so perfectly Stevie. Not surprising who said it.

(Oh, yeah, whatever. Send out the Chiffon-Head police.)

On VH1's Fan Club (for Stevie), they show Sheryl Crow on stage shouting out to the crowd "TO THE GREATEST FANS ON THE PLANET, STEVIE NICKS FANS!"

And on Rosie, I think, when Sheryl was on tour with Stevie she said that Stevie Nicks fans are awesome, they give her tiffany lamps, and at her concerts, she has bottle caps thrown at her!

I always envisioned Sheryl fans nestled in their living rooms, watching that over a nice fondue and yelling "What about us, mother****er?" at the television set.

"What it all boils down to is that voice--a glottal, quavering force of nature that sounds like Stevie swallowed all the grit of the Seventies (which in a way she did), then let it wallow in her throat until it solidified into a pearl." - Andy Bailey / Jalouse Magazine
