She said it was basically a Buckingham Nicks album with Mick and John on it. Which, actually kind of tickled me a little. You know, hey a new Buckingham Nicks album, cool. LOL!

I thought it was basically Lindsey and Stevie solo albums mixed in a pot. Which doesn't mean I didn't like it.

I would hope Christine would consider coming out of retirement for a farewell tour.

For the record, Christine only offered out of a sense of obligation to the band. She gave them her blessing to continue without her. If you read any of her comments since SYW, she seems quite happy to be retired from Fleetwood Mac as a whole. If anybody in the band thought that she really wanted to be on SYW, she would have been on SYW.

She said it had too much guitar, I think. Which may be a roundabout way of saying it didb't have enough keyboards.

Is it a true fact that they actually 'turned her music away' from SYW because she didn't want to tour? I thought Mick said she sort of hemmed and hawed about participating, and then decided not to. I didn't know she had really offered them anything.

i heard they told her that if she wasn't going to be part of the tour to follow, that they prefered that she didnt be on the album as well... from what i heard, she was more than willing to be a part of recording aspect of it.. perhaps, just perhaps, some of the songs that were used on her solo album were originaly intended for "Say You Will"....

CHristine has nothing to apologize for whatsoever. I'm not making any particular comment on what anyone says, but she gave 25+ years of her life to the band and as much as I love Lindsey, she never walked out of Fleetwood Mac like he did.

Was someone asking her to apologize? What does Lindsey leaving FM in 1987 have to do with the discussion of possible 40th reunion tour? Is there are a reason to drag that into this discussion because you didn't elaborate on it and I'm just wondering? I'm having a hard time following certain posts tonight.

I agree. I also think when CM left it was okay with everyone once people got over their shock at her walking away from what certainly would have been a highly lucrative second and or third legs of The Dance. I also think they are friends. I know many do not think this way, but I do

I don't think anybody was surprised. She retired from the road in 1990, eighteen years after she made it known she hated touring on "Homeward Bound." If you listen to her songs on "Time," she was clearly leaving the band all together after that album was relased. I think "The Dance" was a way for her to sign off with Fleetwood Mac on a high note.

Kind of ironic, considering how guitar-driven In The Meantime is. But maybe she was just put off by the "Come" solo.

when she made a comment about SYW having "maybe a little too much guitar" she went on to say that In the Meantime had a lot of guitar on it because she was a "frustrated guitar player".

Much as I love Christine to bits she seems to be contradicting herself there.

I don't think she would tour with them again. Apparently she could have come out and done Don't Stop on the last night of the European tour at Earls Court (some of us bought another ticket on the strength of that) but she didn't want to.

If they do a 40th anniversary tour then I think she might be persuaded to at least appear on the stage but I very much doubt if she'll perform live again

I respect Christine's decision to retire and live her life in England like she's been wanting to for some time. But I've never cared for her stuff live in concert because they would only play her mainstream hits - which I really have never liked; the exception being the revamped "Say You Love Me" from The Dance Tour. I've always had more appreciation for her album cuts that were never played live so I really don't miss her on tour and don't care if she ever comes back.
